Do you believe in fate?

Fate –noun that which is inevitably predetermined; destiny:

I for one believe that our lives are not as chaotic as they seem. I've had this attitude lately that no matter how disheartening things can get, some outside unknow entity will intervene and set the universe back on course.

This website for example. I found it quite by accident and it has already provided me with friends and possibilities..

This morning I'm driving up rt95 doing well over the speed limit. I had an emergency that made me late for work(fate?). I just hung up the phone after a good friend on the other end said.. "No worries mate, things will change soon". ( yea he's brit )

No sooner did I hang up and a car exactly like the one I bought 3 weeks ago pulled up. Same color, same design. (fate?)
Except in it was a very attractive smiling woman. She waved, I nodded and smiled.

I looked up and the traffic ahead and it had stopped. This time of day there is no traffic on 95 ( fate?). So now were side by side. Rolled down the windows and I asked how she liked the car.

She said her name. It is the name of my X ( She Whose Name Cannot Be Spoken ). (Fate?)

We spoke for just a few minutes in traffic. She bought the car from the same place, and had the same salesman.
I asked her if she believed in fate. She said she had a boyfriend.

I called the dealer, asked him to contact her. He sent my request via email. It contains the word FATE, and my cell number.

Anyone have any good stories of fate?

Yes, I believe in FATE. A pal of mine told me about CS, so I signed up, not thinking for a moment that I'd meet anyone. Actually, I had just about given up on the idea!!

Then I asked this guy, what "swing dancing" was...................

I met my soul mate here!

FATE?!?

I think so................!hug

Minx!

In a collective sense, yes. In a individual sense, yes and no. It's complicated and I don't wanna explain just yet..it will just drive me mad cause I am still doing some deep thinking among Determinism, Fatalism, and Predestination. However, I do believe that we control our own destiny. I learned this by applying the law of attraction. And boy does it work. Our thoughts are very POWERFUL....positive and negative. But if you really want something, you can get it. Just don't expect it to happen overnight. If you ask, signs and events will come to guide you, and ultimately your thoughts/beliefs, choices, actions and perseverance will determine your destiny in your own personal universe.

I am not much of a believer in fate. You make your own way and your own choices and things will come your way. Fate means luck and luck is random.

We create our fate and destiny by the choices and actions we make. No luck in that sense. The random things that happen in a certain sphere of possibilities and impossibilites are a result of the limited sphere of reality that we have positioned ourselves in by the choices and actions we made.

I've lived too long and seen too much in this life...

I do not believe in coincidence!!! everything happens for a reason, even if we don't know what the reasons are yet.

Too many times in my life.. i was lead here and there through life to learn this lesson or that lesson. many times just being in the wrong place at the right time to help someone through some major traumatic event similar to something I had already experienced.

There is a design to our lives... but I believe we make our own design before we are born. JMO

dunno Perhaps I didn't express myself clearly, or you didn't understand?

There is no such thing as fate or predestination. The universe and everything in it, the physical world, is without plan....within that, what happens in my life is what I make of it given what I have to work with...circumstance, will and ability. There is no spiritual world, no fate, no supreme being watching over us, etc. That is what I believe. How is it working for me? A whole hell of a lot better than it is working for a lot of other people...

It is like what Sylvia Brown says that we make what we want to happen before we are born then we come back to live it.
