Thank you Desmond... you didn't see the original "call out" as you put it that occured elsewhere... BUT you have a very valid point (that you didn't state overtly) in that I could've altered the Users name (as I did here)... This is NOT about Mindless (he he) just about how we communicate...

Take care...

Well I guess I missed her calling you out and she is wrong for that also

Was entirely my fault... I thought (I'll have to go back and check again myself) that I said this was born out of conversation from another Forum Thread but wasn't specific which one, because I don't want that discussion to be further drug down off topic... hence the creation of this Forum thread in an attempt (for those who care) to make life, perhaps, a little better on the Forums...

Again, was MY FAULT (in such that) I mentioned her specifically in this post-thread as I should've kept it "general".... I make mistakes... and am not afraid to own up to them... (we'll never know, but I suspect, she would've made this all about her even if I hadn't used her for the quote)....

If anyone wants to educate every member here on threadiquette, I hope they plan on making it their full-time job, cause there are new people in here all the time, and even long-time members have different ideas about what is acceptable or not. This has been tried before, people come in who have experience from other sites and expect this one to work the same way. Ain't gonna happen.

The first rule of CS is, there are no rules. No hard and fast ones anyway. Most of us just don't care about thread-jacking, chit-chat between friends, spelling (unless it's so bad as to be unreadable), having a specific topic, proper use of quotes and emoticons, etc.

The second rule is, you're not gonna change anybody's mind about the first rule.

The third and most important rule is, have fun! grin

Let me be clear: you weren't hilarious ... Claayer was.

If you want to be so serious about criticing .... the forums is really not the place to do this - no chance in hell anyone ever is going to pay attention and you'll end up being on most people's bad side. Why don't you become a proof reader for a publishing company if you enjoy this activity?

Thanks Alabamabebe... you are right... just trying to see if some may actually be interested and open to discussion that (hopefully) benefits in making this a more civil and easy to follow place...

I am certainly NOT immune from mindless banter in-between thread posts.... I am here to have fun too...

This is for those who care... and for those that don't, that's fine....
I have NO DESIRE to have a job or role as monitor, just looking to interact with those that are open...

We all have BAD DAYS and sometimes take something away from somewhere that was not intended... We don't see mood or tone in these words.... I've seen it in Chat over and over how someone comes into a discussion late, see's some things between users, formulate an opinion, without full understanding what is going on and hold a grudge based on it.... We joke and tease each other in Chat and across the Forums (here and/or other sites) and it gets misinterpreted and misunderstood... fact of life....

Frankly, I appreciate the occasional reminder made to me... and hope others do in this attempt to do so here....

You know, I'm just saying?!?!? Some peeps do indeed not know how some things are done ... we are all new to online activities like these at some point... we can and should learn the best of things from others while rejecting the bad habits (when/where possible)...

Take care.... Thanks for chiming in...

I'll agree with that...Everyone was waiting and wondering when I was going to post more in that thread and since I have people have gone in and looked but they now don't want to post. I guess I made too many direct questions and good points in my post and now that they're called out they are sitting on their hands.

I think it's kind of funny in a sad way. Maybe one day people will think outside the box and not fear being true to themselves.

No guts no glory!

We are a pretty civil bunch, most of us most of the time anyway. All the quote tips and such isn't going to change anything in that area anyway. And easy to follow, if you take the time to read and get to know people, it's not so hard. Everyone has their own style, some I like, some I don't so much, I just take what I like and leave the rest.

Yep, we've got a few of those here too.

When someone new comes in, and starts saying how things should be done, well it just kinda rubs some people the wrong way. I know what you're saying, but I'm just saying, most people don't care, and the ones that do, don't care that the others don't care, if that makes any sense. confused grin

look guy

the facts are clear
youve been around and after a week here think you can help us be a better forum

its not like we havent been offered this help before
and believe me its been met w/ more irritation than this
so count yourself lucky

you wanna let members in on what happened here
or there w/ me, w/ other people in other threads?
you wanna call me names call the general population names?

youre a stirreryawn

you showed up a week ago mass mailing your own site to us
while "putting together a meet",
+ you act like a know it all in here?

i cannot control what people say about me or do on forums or how they drive their car etc etc etc and i would not presume
to try by posting such a thread-even the title was big headed

i am who i am, but at least i dont follow others in attacks,
follow gossip (gossip is ANYTHING 3rd party) -
or begin to tell people what how where or when they should open their mouths.

it may be my only redeeming quality so i thought id mention it

rolling on the floor laughing
you say youve been at other forms? they didnt teach you any manners? they didnt wanna do it "a better way"-
well boy didnt we get luckyD'oh!
