Finding a partner/mate, lover, wife, whatever, is not going to fix your life--I think it is a mistake to think that if we could just find someone, then we would be happy and everything would be good....that's expecting too much out of a relationship and probably dooming it...

I guess you could think about what you really want out of life--something you have not yet done and can fit into your current circumstances...trying something you have wanted to try, or learning something you have wanted to learn, etc. Sounds kind of like a cliche--but I have found that however simplistic cliche's tend to seem, there is a grain of truth in them.

41 and feeling like that's it: seems impossible. I know two people, close relations, who completely changed their lives at 50--one (a man) by going back to school and one by chaning the direction of her career.

Think about what you really want....what you've been putting off, or even what you might have put away--bring it back out, dust it off, and go for it..

been to Africa? Pick one country in the North, one in the Center and another in the South. Experience all the social status of each...sleep in a small cabana with a very humbled family, wake up with them and see how happy they were to have you over eating their food...will see how those countries are differently shapped!
