Have you been through this with your kids?

Or do you have any interesting stories to tell of your first boy or girlfriend?

Yes. The first girl who I consider my girlfriend was a redhead who I first french kissed, and she two years older than me. I was 12 at the time.
She was one of those fast lane chics.
Anyways, we were in my room making out. She started taking off her clothes. She then started to unbutton my pants, and I just panicked. I told her my parents were coming home ASAP.
The truth was, I had not reached puberty. I was really embarrassed over the fact that I had no pubic hairs. So there was no way I was going to go through with that.

Oh boy...Buy a chastity belt and swallow the key D'oh!

I've been through this with both of my girls. My best suggestion is that when they go out that they go out on group dates with other friends. If that's not possible then I would say that the parents make an effort to communicate with each other in order to pick the kids up and drop them off on their dates. Make sure you talk to her very openly about everything and keep the lines of communication open between the two of you. This way if anything should come up no matter what it is she will feel comfortable talking to you about it instead of trying to hide it. hug bouquet of flowers

I'm lucky, she's very open with me. This is the boy that wanted her to be his girlfriend a couple of months ago and she said she needed to know him better.

They've had all of this time to get to know each other and now she's attracted to him. He's a good kid though. uh oh!

That's funny.

Yeah, Em is 12. This boy is 15. The difference isn't that huge really. She's almost 13 and he just turned 15.

This is key I think.. if you delude urself into thinking they are still ur baby.. there could be trouble.. honesty and openess.. best policy always...as much as my Mum wanted to take the Ostrich in the sand approach... I always felt I could talk to her about ANYTHING.. my big bro gave me some excellent advise as well... I was 20 when I lost my virginity.. so I'm glad... now I know that is a little old by present day standards.. but I am really glad I did wait.. the act was more significant as a result and had some meaning.. rather than facilitating some teenagers hormonal urge.. it was something special JMV

The first boyfriend my parents knew about...came to pick me up for our first date, my Dad brings him to the kitchen, tells him I own a shot gun and it's loaded, pick a magnet and leave your @#% on the fridge.

Very embarrassing, but we were together for two years.
