I'm streaky at times......

I strongly suggest Lansdale and the others are very good as well.

Another that I forgot is........Graham Masterton

My friend the comic book artist and writer turned me onto the ones I mentioned. He is a voracious reader.

I guess I should jump in here. I want to become a filmmaker.

Just wondering if any of you like horror movies or books. I myself love the genre, and would love to discuss favorite authors and or movies.

Just to get things started (hopefully) I'll say this:

WITHOUT EDGAR ALLEN POE, THERE WOULD BE NO HORROR.

My favorite horror movie, on the other hand, would be more modern...
The Ring.

anyone else out there interested in horror?

Lansdale

"By Bizarre Hand" - Short stories
"The Nightrunners"

Masterton

"Master of Lies" - The first chapter will make you clinch your teeth and you'll want a bath after it!.

The fish was really not that big. I caught it from a golf course pond in Myrtle Beach while waiting for the other groups to catch up. I keep a telescoping fishing rod in my golf bag.

I wonder if I can maintain two conversations at once.
lets try.
Well, I have heard about the wild and rugged back country of florida, the horrors of the swamps and the piteous howling of creatures dying in the forests of pine and tupelo. ah, the call of the wild in the manmade ponds of golf-courses. lol. Yeah, since you mentioned he writes short horror stories, I may very well try to locate something made by that one. I write short horror stories.

which leads me to welcome and commend that other chap, who wants to be a film-maker someday. maybe you could do some of my short horror stories someday? wouldnt that be a blast? any chance, you aquainted with the works of the german film maker, werner herzog? he's the best of the best, if you ask me.

thats pretty nice artwork there. was that one by your friend? I can see why he got some work paid for over there.
i cant really imagine that having that one picture up is going to make all that much of a difference here. I mean what are the real chances of meeting 'the right woman' on this website, who especially just happens to live near you.
(sigh) I just found out my rating for my picture from the ladies here. damn, and thats the best I can do, too. Oh well, I am used to being alone.moping

Last House on the Left is my favorite horror movie because it deals with human nature rather than monsters or supernatural events. I'm also a huge fan of zombie movies. Especially low budget cheesy zombie movies like Dead Alive, or Return of the Living Dead.

return of the living dead is a classic, a cult phenomenon like rocky horror. it was an excellent movie made for, like, about ten dollars.cheering cheering cheering cheering

The re-make of that is good and so is the re-make of the Amityville Horror...It expands on the story line a bit more...I would rather watch a scary movie with a good story line any day than one that is all just blood and guts or with a goofy story line!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's how my friend got started. Drawing zombies. Probably his favorite genre.

He actually did a couple of comics on zombies.

'68 .......... about zombies in Viet Nam (being shopped around for a movie deal right now)

"Night of the Living Dead - Barbara Zombie Chronicles"
