yeah, the remakes added depth, but the classic versions were still better, IMO, because they were there, back then, when we were growing up, and therefore have all those wonderful associations of childhood embedded in them. whew.applause applause applause

True....but I find when you watch those movies now...they look so old fashioned...they are almost funny so it's nice to see the classics updated.....wink

you should check out the old movie called "Nosferatu" made back in the 1930's I think. Its the best vamp flick out there. Of course, you should also read Bram Stoker's masterpiece "Dracula." You probably have already.

ok ill read this from the back of the case

In 1979 four documentary film makers disappeared in the jungles of south america while shooting a film about cannibalism ....

6 months later the new york university ,along with the pan america broadcasting corporation ,sent a search team in looking for the film makers .
they could never have been prepared for what they found .

owing to the horrific and graphic nature of the film , cannibal holocaust has been banned in over 50 countries and has achieved a notoriety surpassed by no other horror movie .laugh

dramatic aint it BUT the story line is terrible ,the actors are worse and the camera work is just shameful yet the gory scenes are good (as good as todays) .i bought it online but you should google it and read what they say ,in fact dont thats what made me buy it rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

Check out Near Dark at IMDB and then go rent it. I'm pretty sure you will like it. Also gives you a new appreciation of Bill Paxton.

By the way nacreous........I'm Brian

I liked it, except for the ending which i won't spoil.

Has anyone mentioned 28 days later?
I thought it was a good mix of horror and suspense.

I really love horror movies, except slasher or zombie movies!
My favorites were old vampire movies to the new ones. I love old favorites like Vincent Price and Alfred Hitchcock ! And many many new movies! I did see The Ring, that was wicked, but I loved it.grin
