Top 10 companies with the worst customer service

1) AOL

Know of any others that should be on this list? Why?

I think Electronic Arts (EA) should be. Dealt with their customer service and could barely understand the person on the other end as they were in India. Was upgrading a second UO account I had. It took several minutes to get the person to understand that my main account was already upgraded and that it was my second that I wanted taken care of. Wasn't long after this that I cancelled both of my accounts and started playing on private servers (RunUO)

I've been on the phone 3 times this week with Verizon DSL. I keep losing my internet connection on my laptop. I have never gotten anyone I can understand!! They also keep fixing it for me but won't explain what is wrong so I don't have to call again. It's frustrating when you can't understand the person on the other end. I just want to be like, "HEY can you get me someone that speaks english?!" But that would be rude and I am not a rude person. I am not racist AT ALL but we are in America and I would like to talk to someone with better english if I am calling an american customer service number.

Charter Communications...

I used to have them for cable service. I once called with a problem. Was on hold for 15 minutes, then told to call another number. Called the next number, another 15 minutes on hold. Told to call the 3rd number. ANOTHER 15 MINUTES ON HOLD. When I got someone on the phone that time, I cancelled my service on the spot, told them why and called DirecTV Satellite and had that installed.

I know the feeling. Just like I described about my experience with EA. When I called them, the phone rang once and then there was a slight click just before there was a different type of ring. It was exasperating trying to explain something to someone who had very little knowledge of english

P&R, was it the distance that made it difficult for you to understand the person (as in static on the line, etc.) or was it the language?

I had a similar experience with Charter. Only they failed to cancel the service even though I returned all the equipment, got a receipt for it. Now they are trying to collect for three months of service after the cancellation date. AAArrrgggghhh.....frustrated frustrated
