PLEASE DONT POISON THE WELL


ONCE WE PLAYED AS CHILDREN
LIFE WAS JUST A GAME
NOW WE'RE GROWN AND OLDER
NOTHING QUITE THE SAME
EACH OF US IS A SOUL
SO TREAT WITH TENDER CARE
LETS KEEP EACH OTHER WHOLE


PLEASE DONT POISON THE WELL
AND MAKE SOMEBODY SAD
TEARS ON THE PILLOW
WHEN THEIR HEART SHOULD BE GLAD
WHY WILL WE NOT LEARN
EACH HURT ADDS TO THE ONES
TRYING TO DO THEIR BEST

PLEASE DONT POISON THE WELL
AND SPOIL THEM FOR THE REST
WORDS AND ACTIONS DO IT
AND WE ALL PLAY THE GAME
FORGETTING WE WERE CHILDREN ONCE
WHO SAID DONT USE THAT CANE
TRYING TO BE KIND IS THEN OUR AIM..................
