Wondering how long you've been there and if part of living outside the States is missing things you can't get there that you are used to getting in the States??

There are some things I can't get here...I miss them a little sometimes, but have to honestly say I feel no homesickness whatever.

It's not really missing material things but maybe I don't know how to phrase it different,all things american.

I used to cruise on the weekends and go into the mountains and forests in Georgia,North Carolina and Tennessee just to get away from every day life.It was like recharching my batteries.

Hearing and speaking American English,my folks in Florida and hanging out in Country Clubs,etc.Since I live in Europe I have been back in the States several times and was afterwards happy being back in Europe.Sounds crazy I know but I really like living here but sometimes it just hits me like a sledgehammer.

It will pass since I am content.Feelings like that are just not controllable.Mind over matter doesn't work sometimes to well.

Doesn't sound crazy at all...probably what happens to most ex-patriots...just doesn't happen to me....I always wanted to live overseas and am not disappointed....and don't miss the States per say, or the life stye....there are some bitter sweet memories associated with 'home' so I don't really want to return any time soon; I do miss sometimes the overwhelmingly beautiful and magestic landscape of the Pacific Northwest.....but there is so much to see here and in the rest of the world, am not ready to return to places I have already been.

I have a fiance who lives in North Carolina..i have yet to go and see..but will be moving there this year...

HI...near St. Cloud, Fl here ....which is near Kissimmee, FL......which is near Disney World.......which is near Orlando, FL.....which is near the middle of the state of Florida.....which is near to the rest of the state.

We just say that to confuse lost tourists looking of Mickey Mouse and Disney World or one of the other theme parks!

Good for you.We went once in the wintertime, coming from Miami,to the North Carolina Mountains and frore our butts off.12 Minus.BRRRRR.

Oh but remember i am from CANADA..so i can handle any kind of cold weather..-12 is nothing...we usually get -40 with the winds...

Didn't forget.Too cold for me.The worst I went thru was -23 .Just thinking about it gives me the shivers. Molson.

Canada is very cold.I won't fish there unless it's August.
