What if I don't have any electrical tape? Is just capping them good enough?

not if it rains. its a bad idea to leave um exposed like that.. it would be worth your time to get some electrical tape.

I'm sure there is a man on this forum tonight who can help me with this.

I tried to change my outside light beside my back door and everything was going fine until I realized the new light mounts to the house differently than my old one so I will have to get my son to take care of that part.

My problem is I have already disposed of the old fixture so I can't put it back up. I can't leave the circuit breaker shut off because it shuts off my fridge also. And I can't just leave live wires hanging outside my back door.

Will it be safe if I simply make sure the light switch is in the off position or perhaps put the screw caps on the live wires?HELP

you probably found out how to do it already, screw the wire nuts on ,then tape them up separately with black electric tape . your good to go,,,

I think you want to be very sure that no one gets a shock, so it is always best to do all that you can to ensure others safety!

So here is what you need to do........

cut the wires off to insulator, wire nuts the electric tape, then remove the switch completely from the wall, go to the breaker box and cut all of the wires, remove the electric meter, take out the ax and chop down the power poll,

best of luck to you and we will be happy to see you back here when you get the straight jacket off wink rolling on the floor laughing

when i was younger, whenever my dad was working with live wires he would hold my arm or hand so he wouldnt get zapped too badly and the current would pass through to me instead.

(and im still normal i swear...)
