I thought I could share this here because I just can't talk to anybody in person yet.
I have two beautiful horses that I love dearly. I have 2 weeks to find them new homes because I can't afford to board them anymore.
Sometimes life can be so good and sometimes life can be so sad.

Aawww.. can you let them out on loan instead? ... People do that here.. that way you don't have to pay the upkeep etc.. and the person 'borrowing' doesn't have to pay out for a horse they want to look after and ride. . (just make sure you get it in writing)

I remember some navy kids doing what Claire suggested when I lived in Hawaii. They couldn't afford to purchase a horse (let alone the cost to ship it from the mainland & back when they got transferred) so they leased a horse for the time that they were there....didn't have to purchase the horse, but paid for the priviledge of taking care of it, riding when they wanted, and entering shows. The price you charge them could cover the cost of boarding and maybe work out 1/2 the cost of feed too.
