Do u go for the looks?

Posted: May 31, 2008, 4:19 PM CST
Do you? Or do you just go for the inside qualities and nothing else, or a combo of both?

....For me.. I'm going to be straight up.. I go for a mixture of both...I mean...A guy can be the sweetest thing ever, but if he's real hard on the eyes, then sorry, it's not gonna work.. Conversely, a guy can be the hottest man around and knock them dead, but if he's an arrogant and unkind ass, then hit the road too, dude...Like, the ideal thing for me would just be an all right looking guy (not the hottest, so other women don't snatch him up).. but not hideous... and with a BIG heart..(anyone like that out there??)...Anyway, besides the looks vs. inner qualities concept, I also believe there ABSOLUTELY has to be chemistry on the first date, because if it's not even there on the first day you met, then why the heck would you want to go any further?("Oh, because he's a doctor, or a lawyer, and my parents adore him, but I can't even stand the thought of him kissing me.. eww, but he's got a good situation, so I'll still go with it..) Me? I'd rather date a young and goodlooking waitor that makes me go crazy with butterflies and makes me feel alive, than an old and dry bump on a log that puts me to sleep.. Don't get me wrong..I think some older guys can be amazing and very sophisticated.. but I'm just talking about attraction and chemistry here. And I don't really think attraction has all that much to do with what other people think of as hot or goodlooking.. Like, I have been and can be crazy about someone that my friend, for example, would think is not hot at all.. It's all subjective... BUT IT HAS TO BE THERE FROM THE MOMENT HIS CAR OR MOTORCYCLE PULLS UP IN THE DRIVEWAY!dancing

At your age it's ok to go for the looks...you should have that criterion at a certain point so when you grow up, it is all out of your body! Only by experience you will be safe from what should not be...
don't be scared to make such light mistake...if that's what you feel...

I went for looks, brains and depth of character. Fortunately, my lovely wife had no such criteria and settled for me! grin

When Shelia and I started talking, it was about two weeks before I saw a picture of her. A year and a half later, we became Mr & Mrs. As an answer to your other thread, I moved to NC from NH.

Back when I was younger, it was looks. Now that I'm older and somewhat wiser, it's personality that counts. I married a beautiful woman, inside and out.
