I'm having surgery in the morning. Dbl. hernia.
Been waiting, my turn, for three months since diagnosis. VA..
I know it's routine nowadays, but after dreaming that I died a few nights ago and seeing my dead mother and grandmother, it's kinda freaked me out.
Last time I had surgery, for anything, was back in 83.
Anyway, thank you to all that have and will keep me in your prayers and I hope to be back up and around soon.

Is it in a spot that they are going to knock you out?
I only ask because we can get a hernia anywhere.
If arm or leg.. they can just deaden that limb.

Have you been under gas before?

Surgeries have come a long way since 83, my ex had the same surgery and they did it laproscopic and he only had a couple of tiny incissions where they put the instruments through. With the advances in anesthesia, you probably will wake up and not feel like you had been out of it. I had carpal tunnel surgery a couple of years ago, and when I woke up, it was so strange because I was wide awake in an instant. So try not to worry and don't pay any attention to those dreams....stress plays strange tricks with your mind.

You will be o.k. I have had a lot of surgeries the last 10 years. Heart bypass, bypasses on both legs and bka amputation On right leg. It is normal to be nervous. YOU WAS THINKING ABOUT YOUR MOM AND WISHED SHE WAS HERE TO SUPPORT YOU. IN YOUR DREAM THE ONLY WAY TO BE WITH HER WAS IF YOU DIED. GOD BLESS YOU
