Tatum O'Neal was arrested and charged with possession of crack cocaine, powder cocaine and a clean crack pipe. She has had a history of drug abuse (heroin) and went through rehab.

Do you feel sorry for her? Do you think she is a pathetic rich girl that needs to grow up? What are your thoughts?

I don't feel sorry for her....I think she is a pathetic rich girl who needs help though...

I have mixed feelings. Addiction is terrible, but she is 44 years old with 3 kids (who have been taken away from her custody) and it is time she grew up and have some priorities in her life way above drugs.

She's been in and out of rehab. She has children. If she weren't so selfish, I think she would try harder. So yes.

I feel sorry for ANYONE with addictions.. regardless of what they do and don't have.

I hear ya...unfortunatley the party lifestyle of sooooo many stars gets totally out of control with them earning sooooo much money so young and these types of drugs becoming almost posh among them....I'm sure at some point they eventually reach the point of no return....I agree when she chose to have children...then would have been the time to get her addictions under control...that was a selfish move and now she has 3 children caught up in her habit!!!!!!!!!!

You cannot help someone who is not at the stage of committing to receiving that help.

I think it would go deeper than being a spoilt little rich girl that has caused her to be an addict. It's the reason behind why they become so addicted that concerns me. I'm sure there would be some horrible stories.

I sure do......it is not easy at all being on her place when she has kids even. poor lady..... ihope some day she can be free of this huge monster and being able to have a better life together with her family.

But as a matter of Very Fact....Who I feel really truely sorry for is Late Deborah Jeane Palfrey(Madam DC).....that was a tragedy because We will never know what she knew and we will probabely never know what happened to her? In a conservative society, many people "think" Oak she was just a prostitute and who cares?

I just wanted to know what she knew and I wanted so much seeing her on tv reveiling those names one by one, and I can not accpet the explanation a bout her death. the truth a bout that is out there.....but difficult to get when many nomral americans unfortunatily thinking it is no important, one less of them or not......

I think I heard she was abused physically in her life Tina. She was also abandone" by her father Ryan, and her mom had questionable friends and had drug problems of her own.

How tragic Ken. I'm not condoning that each time we have problem we turn to drugs.

But we all deal with things differently. When people are treated as tatum has been I don't believe they have dealt with any of their problems maybe the drugs give them the feeling of peace they are seeking.

There are so many ways of looking at these situations.

So true. I think people (including myself) might not give her as much sympathy because she has resources to get help...most addicts do not have that advantage. But your point about how complicated the situation is for anyone addicted is well put.

Regardless of what we might think it can't be a easy life when you're a star at 10 years old.

Sure you have wealth and fame but how many 10 year olds do you personally know
that can handle that kind of life? I don't think she ever had a chance to really grow up
and have a normal (or normal as we know it) childhood. so yeah, I feel bad for her in
a few ways..

There is no question in my mind that she needs help. Will she get it? Will she accept any help?? Who knows...



I feel sorry... for her children.

With her money, connections, family and friends and so on for support.......not one bit of sympathy from me. She has every opportunity layed out in front of her for a happy and successful life and she chooses to use drugs? Give me a break.
