Some of what you may consider Hate mail may be an attempt to get you to stop the attacks without taking it all to the threads.. where it don't belong.

There's a lot of subjectivity in what is an attack verses what's an opinion.

I have rarely got hate mail ermm can say abusive mails yes ... best is to block the region if there are too many people annoying you.. other option is as usual block each person.

but good heavens .. so much time to send hate mail ... hmmm

How is sending a private email cowardly????????? Personally, I'd rather not view a disagreement in the public forums. Why would others need to see them spat back and forth when its got nothing to do with them?

Keep it between the parties involved - why drag others into it?????????????????

Anyone can have a bad day or a bad time to get attacked or spoken to in anger. But people usually calm down and come to their senses and get over it. But when one insist on keeping it going on and on and taking thier anger out on anyone who ask a question or disagrees in anyway and then blames the other this is negative and a downer. If someone ask you to stop harrassing them and to just ignore each other and that person is not bothering you, it seems that a sensible person would do so. Unless they are having problems with themselves and taking it out on another then I believe that is abusive. Asking others to watch you abuse a person and support you in your actions is as unacceptable as the abuse itself.
