Intelligent partners ..

Posted: Jun 4, 2008, 7:48 AM CST
hmm I have heard this so often about i would like to meet someone intelligent and smart ... etc.

What do you think you are looking for when you are seeking a mental match ? Is it his/her ability to keep up an intelligent conversation or have an opinion whatever it might be or plain be receptive of what you are talking about ?

How do you assess smartness on the " scale of the mind " ?

Does it matter at all ????

I believe it is desire to find someone equal in maturity (when needed) and wisdom (common sense, knowledge, application with creativity).

Then the rest is personalities that play off of each other to the happiness of both.

Wise people can play the fool, but a fool can never play the wise person for long.

To be wise and be saddled with a fool is like breeding a horse to a jackass......the offspring is a stubborn dumb mule.

Two wise people can by their actions give wisedom to children.

But a fool can drag down even the wisest person by constant foolish living.

So find someone that you want your children to become. This is a good guide for seeking a spouse.

You'd have to be stupid to enjoy a date (much less a relationship) with someone stupid.
idea And there you have it!
I can't see Mr. Doc enjoying a conversation with a hair-brained bimbo frustrated
Nor would your average jane (moi) enjoy a date with Mr. Rocket Scientist talking over the their head yawn
I'm thinking we attract, and are attracted to, people of like-intelligence hug (It's not rocket science.)

When I say I want to meet someone intelligent I mean somone who is sharp, clever, thoughtful, open minded--- a thinking person who observes the world around him and develops an awareness of it rather than just reacting to it; someone who reads, studies, and assesses not to validate preconceived ideas, but to understand and to learn.....someone who is smart enough to see the humor in life and as well as to be moved by the anguish and to accept it; someone who had dignity of soul because he is aware that the soul is meaningless without dignity....being intelligent is obviously a complex issue for me...
