Out of five I only have one son and yesterday was his birthday and I have no ideal where he is. The phone number I had does not work just a recording. Got hold of a ex inlaw and she does not know either or just not telling me.

He just turned 33 so I guess it is his choice.

No matter how old they are, you never stop being their mother & worrying. IMO, that's a bit rude on his part!

33 or 3 - it's still bloody painful to lose contact with a son! I hope you two can find a way to re-establish contact, Linda.hug wave

Kitty, I don't know what the law is regarding missing adults in Canada, but after you have waited the appropriate lenght of time I would report him as missing. My son did this to me a several years ago and I reported him as a missing person after the 48 hour wait). When the cops found him & he got in touch with me, he promised to never "go missing" again.

Without knowing anything about you or your family, but looking at what goes on and has gone on in my own, and the stories other people have told me about their relationships with parents--- kids and parents have problems and just because the kids get older, it doesn't mean they stop having problems. Maybe he is upset with you for some reason, and he is trying to send a message or hurt your. Kids don't realize how much they hurt their parents by this kind of gesture. From what I've seen in families, these kinds of things come and go and surely this too will pass...he will change his attitude and want to be back in contact with you...if his friends don't want to tell you where he is and he doesn't get in contact with you, I don't think you can force it. If there is someone you know who will probably be in contact with him, you could let that person know you'd like to hear from him...then just wait until he is ready to come around--mentally and physically. Good luck. Take joy in the other four who are remaining in contact.

Kitty take the advise given by previous posters, and once the 24 hours are up, file a report for a missing person.

Hope that you have good news asap!!

The last time I talked to him it was before Christmas and he said he was going on a holiday over Christmas and will likely be back in a few months. The phone number has always been the same it is the same one I had when I lived there when I was married to his dad. The phone is now not working which I do not know why as other people also lived in the house with him. I feel he did not come back and they just changed the number but I do not know for sure.

I cannot talk to his dad as we do not talk since I put him in prison for 7 years.

Just with his birthday beening yesterday I was sure I would hear from him as I thought we were getting close again after not talking for many years. I wanted to go over there before to visit him but his dad would not let me, even after his dad moved out he did not think it would be a good idea for me to come over there.

The reason I am thinking more now too is I do not have contact with my oldest who is 34 ever since her dad went to prision and he was the only way I had of knowing what she was doing. He is the one who told me she got married and now lives on a acerage and has a high government job.
