Okay, I'm one of those ladies...I don't like men who sit around watching sports on tv, talking about sports all the time, etc. I've only been involved with one guy who did that, and it was baseball, so fortunately only for one season...
I guess it's because it takes up a lot of time and it seems very juvenile. These are games and some guys take them so seriously. Also, if you like sports, then why not play them...go hiking, skiing, swimming, running, play football/socker/baseball with friends, etc. instead of sitting in front of a tv or at a bar drinking and eating and yelling at a tv screen. Well, in the end, it's a matter of taste for one thing...I'm interested in men who basically share my world vision and interests, although don't expect to be joined at the hip...
I don't spend hours shopping or anything...not doing girly things...so I can't be accused of hyprocrisy. Your lady friend that wanted to know how much time you spent watching sports probably wanted to know how much she would have to give up of time with her partner...rather than doing things together, you're in front of the TV and she is not interested. Best thing is to find a woman who also likes to watch tv sports...
