I decided to dedicate this weekend to sunbathing, hopefully to get that out of the way for the rest of the summer. I clearly realized this time that I just really don't enjoy it at all! I cannot seem to have the patience to just lie there. I have tried reading, that helps a little but still not much. For some reason I find it soooooo boooooriing.......

Do you enjoy sunbathing?

Don't know that I've ever really done it (sunbathed). I spend enough time outdoors doing other things that I've never really needed to lie around in the sun just for the sake of soaking it up.

Maybe if you stayed up all night and then just took a really long nap in the sun?

Chica! I am so with you! Good to have company in my closet-attitude about sunbathing. And coming from So. California such a confession (aye, the horror of it all) would be akin to a Minnesotan dude hating to fish...it's closet stuff.

Hmmmmm, but then don't you get this "redneck" tan instead of it being nice and even?

Great idea about just taking a nap out there, I could set the alarm clock to wake up and change positions every once in a while.

Back when I was working construction, people were amazed that a redhead like me could get a deep, even tan. I used to tell 'em that when you spend 16 hours a day in the sun, six days a week that it's kinda' hard not to tan.

I prefer to do my in early spring, before the sun gets too intense, thus preserving what's left of my aged skin...

one of my fav pastimes! but then I have an ipod, a garden to tinker in an outdoor shower, music and other things so there's no need to just lay there all the time though meditating is one way to use that time.

Haven't you heard? White, pale skin is the fashion must have this year and it has been predicted for many years to come. Think Nicole Kidman, Gwyneth Paltrow and many other pale skinned celebrities.

Apparently recent surveys indicate an overwhelming preference amongst the male population for white skinned beauties.

I'm glad, I loathe sunbathing and in my late forties I now know better and try to look after my nice soft but pale skin, unlike when I was younger and often burnt to a frazzle in the quest for a bronzed body.

It's odd but in japan if your female your skin tone is viewed as an indicator of your class.I.E if your really white then your more attractive to the male.

Mind you a pretty oriental face is pretty hard to knock.I'm sure i was oriental in another life
