Don't get hissy. Someone mentioned Paul, and that was what I pointed out.

Oh wait, YOU mentioned that Paul not being contemporary was "nonsense".

The Goerge Washington analogy doesn't fit. There were contemprary writers in Washington's time. Even his OWN writings.

Your arguement holds no water.

I can print it out for you, and do a little origami cup if you like, it will hold water then.

Paul was certainly a contemporary of Jesus, in that He was alive when Jesus was regardless of when his vision occurred.

Why do you keep dodging the Plato issue...it's because you made him up isn't it?

Okay, I will just say that if you deny the sound wisdom of Jesus' teachings and claim it to be for mass control, then I would just shake my head.

I don't care if Jesus existed or not. I just believe that his wisdom is timeless and makes sense. Like unconditional love, forgiving, getting wisdom and understanding, not judging, helping the poor, and not to love materialism...the list can go on. How is that mass control for the worse?

If his wisdom existed thousands of years before him...fine. It's just the same message being repeated coming from the same God Source...even today through self help gurus.

Why do you care so much? Just let the believers be. It's like you are trying to conform others into not believing what they want to believe into what you believe to be true in this world. Kinda ironic Goose....laugh

People don't blindly follow plato.

People haven't killed in the name of Plato.

That is what you blindly accepted...according to your tone. C'mon, it's too late for you to slither out of that one. You have showed us your cards long ago.....

I'm not hissy, just don't understand why you are doing to others what you wish to not have done to you....promote an ideology.

Paul

After his miraculous conversion in A.D. 37, he participated in missionary expeditions. On the first journey (A.D. 45-47), Barnabas was his partner. On the second journey (A.D. 50-54), Silas (or Silvanus) was his partner. For part of the third journey (A.D. 50-54), Luke was his partner. Paul was imprisoned in Jerusalem in A.D. 58, in Cæsarea from A.D. 58-60, and in Rome from A.D. 61-63 and from A.D. 65-67.

His conversion did not happen until after Christ's death. He did not write until after then. No contemporary writing.

Does this really seem to be a real issue? I mean it can't ever be proven absolutely one way or the other if Christ lived and did his deal... I suppose you could invent a time machine and get your first hand evidence, but whose going to do that... I mean we shouldn't ever base our lives on some certainty we can't fully prove nor should we abide by the chance of something being the way it probalbly is... I am pretty sure that unordinary and unlikely events take place all the time... Truthfully, I think the search for truth and fact are a waste of time and the mind. Surely we can all find a better life if we don't waste our thoughts on things that can't impact our daily life. I believe it is best that we just find it within ourselvs to make what changes we need, but that's what one simpleton thinks...

I don't slither out of anything. My stance is the same as it has been from the beginning. Anyone can read back to your post and see YOU brought up Paul, and I showed you he had no contemporary writing. Then you decided to take it off topic, and just can't handle that I haven't swayed my position.

Same God source? That would be MAN.

Any contemporary writers?

Oh....best of luck on that one....that shit is buried in layers and protected in the wrong hands...some day goose the truth will be revealed, and the world as we know it will end in our minds, and physically. Then a new beginning to the same tragic end in this vibratory plane....

I was just giving you a hard time goose....wanna see how you would react under some heat and role reversal.....I'm weird like that when it's almost 5 in the morning swedish time. a loser is me...laugh

You missed my point. That is all.

The Source is in you and the Source exists...even in women and all living things on earth that contain energy. Your energy does not just evaporate when you die. Just transfers. Disprove that in another thread if you wanna play some forum chess..Is that off topic?

laugh here's to you

Jim wouldn't believe in Jesus if He jammed a Holy thumb up his ass. I doubt he cares that much for historical accuracy either. I still love though Goosey, but only in the gay sex way.

I probably should have posted this first, but the words were just coming to me so I'm going to just keep going with it. Umm. I want to say two things.. first of all, i completely agree with the post previous to mine. I am absolutely sure that religion, at the very least, has the significance of revealing the human charachter and strenthening an individual. Most religious principles are based on overcoming and defeating fear, finding happiness in life, and building strong relationships with others. The wisdom and teachings relate to, at the very least, the highest quality life one can have.

However, im not so convinced the bible is innocent in taking advantage of the people... I have my reasons for thinking so... the early catholic church has a very rich history.
