hi people wave iv been meaning to do a thread on this for ages but keep forgetting ,it was the other cat thread that reminded me ............. anyway i have 4 adult cats and 2 kittens ,iv had cats all my life and personally couldn't live without them .id like to know what your cats or dogs can do ?

most people think only dogs can learn commands but its been proven wrong

my ginger tom Jeremiah = answers to his name ,chases balls and toys if you throw them, will bring back said toys ,will lie down if told , he knows the cupboard where his food is kept ,can stand on my fence and ring my doorbell when he wants back in .

my black cat romeo = can pee in the toilet (altho he only does this when he wants to) he also answers to his name

my gray cat minky = can sit for hours on the top of the living room door without any unsteadiness (she doesn't answer to her name but does to everyone else's) she is also the fly catcher in the house

my tigi (yes tigger cat) = will bring back anything and everything she can be it magpies or chickens she will find a way to bring it home ,she has always been a tea leaf as well and i find it rather amusing when doing the garden and find 6 socks hidden under a bush that tigi has stashed at some point that week .

they all get bathed on a monthly basis ,they get blow dried after every shower ,they allow me to clip there claws and brush there teeth and yes im proud that my babas are quite chilled like that .

iv taught my cats everything they know but thats because iv had them as litters ,at the moment the 2 new kittens frost and lilly (12 weeks old yesterday) are being taught to like the hairdryer and how to open doors when im not there as the rest of the cats know how to do this already .most of the people i know think im mad for teaching them but i think its vital if you want to live in harmony with each other .

my swear word that all my cats know is "move" the minute i say that they do it .so people what can your pets do ? and what have you taught your pets to do ? wine

Boo, bless her.... Used to like to play fetch when I lived in a flat, the loo was at one end of a hallway... the front door at the other... about 20 feet distance between the loo and front door... most times when i went for a sit down... <cough> she would go find one of her mice or bits of tin foil and bring it and drop it at my feet... soooooooooo I used to have to hurl it to the front door so she could scamper down the hallway, pick it up and carry it back chirruping all the way.... she'd drop it at my feet again and so it went on, tufty, the white one on my profile used to join in when she was younger, far to refined these days, she just comes in for strokes these days grin

I have 3 dogs. The oldest is a Husky and she rules the roost. When Tasha speaks, it's like EF Hutton - everybody listens.

Being a husky - she doesn't bark, she "speaks," "talks to us." Since it gets her so much attention, my youngest, a very smart English Lab named Cooper, has learned to speak like she does to get attention. He's learned the best of both dogs. He barks like Maggie - the Lab and Golden mix, and plays with her, but he has a healthy respect for Tasha. I think this comes from her biting his head - almost all of it, when he was just a couple of months old. Since then, he respects her as the ruler of the roost.

Cooper is also a Mama's boy. He's also the only male in the house. When he gets a toy, he comes running to me to protect him from one of the bigger dogs trying to take it away from him.

When I comb them - daily. They lay on the floor in front of me and let me comb them. When I put the collar back on, another one is in line to get combed. They're really good about it except the grumpy husky. She seems to consider it her duty in life to give me a hard time. help

I will, unfortunately, be needing to find homes for a couple of them pretty soon as I am planning to move to a smaller place. So if there is anyone in the region who would be interested in one of them and could give them a good home, please let me know. sad

My dog Ellie will stand up on her hind legs and "sit pretty" she will also turn around while on her hind legs to "dance". She sits, she lays down.. if you do the fake gun thing at her with your finger and say "BANG!" she lays down on her side and looks up at you wondering if she did it right LOL. Oh and we are working on a new trick "shake". If she feels threatened or feels I am threatened rather she will come and sit down right next to my foot and wont leave my side.
She gets lonely when I'm gone at work so I got her a pet hamster we named sassy.... sassy starts chewing on the cage bars when she wants out to roll around her in little hamster ball. :)

dunno thats all I've got grin

this is the first time in my life, I am living without pets. My depression is the worst it has ever been. My animals have always been my life. Where I live (financial expedience), I can't have dogs, cats, or birds

I have a nice, clean pet that sleeps all day. He only comes out to play when i get home really late. He's my hero and considered dangerous to most, because he is enormous.

Well my cat beats the house easily.

Not only can he tell the time he also acts on it in strange ways.

He can also manage to operate a laptop and do a google search when the cursor was nowhere near the box.Hes been known to open other firefox browsing tabs and escape programmes returning the laptop to windows!

Hes also been known to perform an auto shutdown, regardless of whats on the screen!!

Then theres the communication, he talks. He lets you know precisely what he wants!! Nobody else will know of course but i know exactly what he wants and he tells me!!

The funniest thing is crunchy cat buscuits. His face is on the box, therefore their his i think, so if you wont open the box, he will!! And he will lift the snacks out one by one to get them!!

He's very keen to always keep an eye on me, like im a wayward child, and i have caught proof of this as if you take a look at my profile pic where its expanded you will see proof positive that he even looks at what i do on connecting singles!!

I havent seen him do a macro on excel yet but its only a matter of time!!

Lets see if anyones pet even comes close to "ginger-king of beasts". laugh
