Some guy told me he was 5'8" Then made plans with me when I said I was 5'5". He was 5'2" at best. Even if he said 5'3"or something shorter than me, that would have been fine to know. When I had to look down to meet him, I was done. I had already said I liked short guys. If he hadn't lied, things might have been different. Hard to make yourself 5'8" when you're really 5'2" A 5'5" chick might notice.

If it's a profile lie, I toss everything and leave.

Luckily for me, a guys girlfriend sent me an e-mail. I don't put too much into this.

the problem is you could have been meeting someone real... instead of wasting your time with some idiot who's lied about their appearance, skin condition, weight, age, etc...

i never met in person ppl known from internet so i cannot answer this question...guess i would just give up keeping the contact with him/her (unless they really had a good reason for telling me lies )

or understand some people in life are doing the best they can to fit in while feeling like they are not good enough. Have understanding and see if this person is someone you like. If they are a manipulator.....then by by.

How did they lie? Did they say they were divorced and weren't, or 'forget' to update their photo for 5 years? To me, what they lied about would make a big difference. And how important is what they lied about to you?

Was it by a lot? I hate to admit this, but I forget to move the clock up, so to speak. I do it with my horses too, so it's not a vanity thing.

I met a lady from another site who said she was 50, turned out she was 57.
Not that age is material to relationships but I did feel I was cheated on. My age group is between 44 and 54 so there is no way the lady in question would have come up on my searches.
