Posted: Jun 11, 2008, 12:38 PM CST
Another thread gave me this question
why does it seem like we don't get it until its is over.
in my last relationship I had, I thought that it was all good and then one day when she left and told me I just don't get it !
well I still don't get it dunno

Communication is key, in a case like this. She said you "don't get it" ---- get what? Did you ask? Did she tell you?

dunno

If you didn't get it then, & you don't get it now, then all I can say is hopefully you've moved on. And when and if your next relationship rolls along, I do hope the two of you have (much) better communication...

cheers

That sounds like a woman who has been communicating something over and over and feels she wasn't being heard!!!!!!!!!

I could be wrong...BUT I know I have made that same statement and that was the case!!!!!!!!!

I get it. my question to the women here would be you are with the person and you know who and how they are and you stay with that person for a length of time and say the same thing over and over why do you try to change this and at the same time accept it?

It depends what it is....If it's something that is effecting the relationship and my partner wasn't listening to what I have to say and there could be no compromise...then no I wouldn't stay for any length of time...there isn't any point....not to mention frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!

Communication is, for me, key. My last relatinship ended because there was just no communication- in the end, even I gave up. You can't get blood from a stone. A closed book just doesn't do it for me, and if someone just doesn't want to 'talk abut it' then, there's no point.
And I don't mean the ' honey , what are you thinking?' kind of communicationlaugh

I found out that men just don't hear what you are saying or they hear it differently than you meant it. The whole Mars/Venus thing. Even when I told my ex that I wasn't happy and told him exactly why, he still didn't get it. D'oh! We did the councelling thing and that helped for about 2 days. He looked at me shocked that there even was a problem. How dense can you be??!! Finally I said, "This isn't what I signed up for!" I packed my bags and never looked back.
