I remember having to tune in my TV to get color.

I remember only having 3 or 4 channels.

I remember having to get up to change channels.

I remember tucking the seat belts down in the seats so we didn't have to sit on them.

I remember sitting down as a family and eating supper every night.

I remember playing marbles, tether ball, matchboxes, Lincoln logs..

I remember being tethered to the wall while on the phone.

I remember laying in the back window, on long road trips!

I remember when kids were afraid of the teachers instead of the teachers being afraid of the kids.
I remember when we ran down the street and hollared out front of our friends house to get them to come out and play, instead of setting up play dates through sitters on cell phones.

I remember leaving the front door open, unlocked at night in the summer.

I remember not worrying about getting homebaked goodies at Halloween.

I remember keeping the car keys in the ignition.

I remember the good cartoons on Saturday morning.

I still remember sitting on the seat belt buckle in the summer and it was burning hot!!!

I remember almost all of what you have..

I remember not having to worry about going to school..No school shootings then.

I remember not having to worry about the kids staying out past dark..

I remember all of those...how I miss those days

and remember that playing a game of sports with your friends meant you got together, made your teams, and played, and not taking turns on madden 08

I remember being the little one among so many cousin brothers

I remember caring and being disappointed ..

I remember my opinions did mean something but i remember now why i closed my heart so it wouldnt get hurt again..

I remember when it was safe for a young girl to walk down a street without worrying about some pervert trying to pick me up.


I remember going on vacation and not locking the house up..When we returned, everything was still as we had left it.

I remember not having TV, seat belts, supper together, "CRANK" phone on the wall, making teachers angry (yes, even then I was an outlaw) , not having a car but a horse

I still leave the keys in the ignition and still leave my place unlocked. If they can get passed "Big Dog", they can have it..

I remember when bread went stale and milk turned sour over night
I remember wash day
I remember the cats ears (Ariel ) that sat on top on the tv
I remember polishing shoes on a Saturday night
I remember swinging on the lamp posts
I remember buying one or two cigarettes at any one times (loose cigs)and asking for a match
(well one does like to have a smoke on ones way back to school after lunch. Terrible????)
I remember walking home from the (city) disco because I would insist on staying for the last
dance instead of leaving 5mins earlier and running for the last bus. Although the walk was a pain in the ass it was a hell of lot safer back then.
I remember people smiling and nodding hello as they passed each other by
I remember priests and nuns out and about and us having to jump out of their way while saying well bowing really "hello father" "hello sister" (don't see them anymore)
I remember carrying my LP's under my arm going to friends homes to play and listen to our idols
I remember great times and I remember terrible times

In the Arizona summer heat, milk can go sour before you get home from the store.

I remember taking a bath in a big metal tub.

I still remember no TV. And the huge case with an 8" round screen on out first one.

I can remember stealing dad's ciggs.

I can remember walking to school in a blinding snow storm and 20 below temps.

Ahh yes, the Padre and the sister.. I still wonder what really went on.....
