Hey all. I'm just curious what you think about the subject. I'm 38 years old, and have never had children. yes i do want kids sometime

Does being this old, divorced and no kids actually make me look bad, eventhough I have had nothing but good intentions with the idea?

I guess it depends if you want to date someone who has kids of her own.....

If you want to date a girl who doesn't have any, then it's good that you don't have kids......

people don't have children for loads of reasons, if someone was judgemental on that there not worth bothering with

Obviously you and your ex weren't ready for children and didn't have any. It's not a bad thing, it's a good thing actually that you have waited to have them with the right woman.

All depends on the man himself. Could be various reasons as to why someone does or does not have children - some in our control - some out of our control.

My only thought would be that for me to become involved with a man who wanted children ...... I'm at the age where its not such a good idea anymore (regardless of my desires to want one).

Doesnt bother me maybe they havent found the one they wish to have kids with yet.

It is a good thing from my perspective. It doesn't say anything bad about you, just that you waited and didn't jump into having a family. And when you meet the right woman, it will be easier because she doesn't have to worry about dealing a blended family, being a step mom, or you having ties to the ex-wife because of the kids, etc. It actually makes things a lot less complicated.

I think it would make you look bad if you weren't divorced and had been living with your mother for 38 years. I'd get the impression you were a bit of a "malcolm"

I hope that wasn't the reason for the divorce...

But I'm with Porteia (sorry if I butchered the spelling)....this might sound harsh, but a man without kids also isn't paying child support...and as she said, the ties to the ex aren't there because of kids....also a woman with kids of her own wouldn't have to worry about if yours & hers got along....and then there's those of us who's kids are grown & gone...a guy without kids makes it easy to have that "just us" life that's supposed to happen when the nest gets empty.

For me personally, no it doesn´t make you look bad... why should whether or not you´ve had children make you a good or bad person? For me the fact that you want them would be a problem and may be for women just a bit older then you are because many of us have had children and don´t want anymore... but again wether or not it makes you look "bad" is crazy and anyone who would judge you on that woudn´t be worth spending time with. As i told to myself if i am with a man who had alresdy have kids it's a good thing because at least he have a chance to have one in his life maybe it's something i will never be able to give him

I am in the same boat myself- but, I do not wish to have any kids;
nor do I want to raise somone elses kids
Does this mean I'll be a spinster forever?!?
