What's That You Are Drinking?

Posted: Jun 17, 2008, 12:57 PM CST
(NaturalNews) The human body is composed of 75 percent water and 25 percent solid matter. To provide nourishment, eliminate waste and conduct all the trillions of activities in the body, we need water. Most modern societies, however, no longer stress the importance of drinking water as the most important "nutrient" among nutrients. Entire population groups are substituting water with tea, coffee, alcohol and other manufactured beverages. Many people don't realize that the natural thirst signal of the body is a sign that it requires pure, plain drinking water. Instead, they opt for other beverages in the belief that this will satisfy the body's water requirements. This is a false belief.

Common Beverage Substitutions Lead to Dehydration

It is true that beverages such as tea, coffee, wine, beer, soft drinks, sports drinks and juices contain water, but they also contain caffeine, alcohol, sugar, artificial sweeteners or other chemicals that act as strong dehydrators. The more of these beverages you consume, the more dehydrated your body becomes because the effects they create in the body are exactly opposite the ones that are produced by water. Beverages containing caffeine, for example, trigger stress responses that at first have strong diuretic effects, leading to increased urination. Beverages with added sugar drastically raise blood sugar levels. Any beverage that provokes such a response coerces the body to give up large quantities of water. Regular consumption of such beverages results in chronic dehydration, which plays a part in every toxicity crisis (the body's effort to rid itself of accumulated toxins).

Have you been fooled into thinking you were getting your water intake from other sources?
Did you know that these drinks were actually dehydrating you?
Do you know that many aches and pains you feel in your body are due to dehydration and that if you will start drinking lots of water, you can be Pain FREE?!!!
Has this information helped you?
Will you use this information to help your body or do you not even care because you love and are addicted to your substitutes and you are not about to give them up or cut back on their intake?

laugh Me too, in the morning. Got to have my one big cup to kick start my day. Then I drink water to rehydrate what the cafeine removed.

I say that all things are permissable, but not to excess.
If we know that a particular food or drink is not the healthiest, an occasional one will not hurt, as long as we do something to recreate balance. Counteract the bad with the good. Then do a detox at least once a week using Applecider Vinegar, honey and water or drink lemon water.

Just be aware and think before you drink.

Many have no idea of the harm they are doing to themselves, nor do they care.

I did not care either, until I ended up with the incurable disease of FIBROMYALGIA. Ha, ha... I don't have it anymore cos I found the cure... Naturally!!!

Well while caffeine is a diuretic there is not enough in coffee to give a noticeable effect in fact you will feel the effect of drinking the volume of liquid long before you can consume enough to get a diuretic effect, , personally I drink stacks of water if I recall correctly you should drink .5 of an ounce per pound of body weight per day

Thank you for the complement!!! Yes, I am vegetarian. I eat lots of fruits and veggies, drink smoothies made from fruits, juice or steam my veggies. I eat fish, mostly Salmon, and Chicken or Turkey occasionally. I do not drink store bought milk, I use Soy Milk or Raw Milk from a nearby farmer. I occasionally eat an egg, free range of course. Eat lots of whole grains, cereals and breads. Drink lots of water. I am active. I mow my 3 acres with a self-propelled push mower, as part of my exercise program. I ride my bike and work out on my abswing. I work in my garden as it is good mental therapy. I play with the animals, we have 4 dogs and 2 cats. I watch the birds who live on my porch. Four babies have left the nest and the nest is being cleaned and restored... perhaps more new babies on the way?

I believe that balance with nature, mind, body and spirit and being positive, encouraging and generous with mankind, creates an atmosphere and aurora which keeps one Healthy!
