LOL Or maybe a "Great Dana" fund???

Maybe I'll be able to keep one or two. I hate to but at least need to find a home for at least one of them if I do end up able to keep one, simply because I seriouly need to simplify a few things in my life. The stress level is just too much right now.

I sincerely want to thank all of you for your help and suggestions. I will be trying many of these. I certainly won't be taking them to the pound as I'm afraid they would be put down, and because I don't want them living in cages any where.

I'm sure we'll be able to work something out. There are plenty of people in this world that love animals as much as we do.

I had to find homes to my beloved dogs(lab,golden and yellow lab) I contacted people who rescue these dogs and put you in touch with adopted parents who are looking for them. I met the people in person and interviewed them(as I cried my eyes out) when I found the couple that were worthy of my dog I had them write down there address and phone number and i gave my number as well. I also had them sign a form stating they would keep the dog forever and if they could not they had to notify me at once so I can find another worthy owner. I found indivdual homes for all my dogs and though it has been 8 years there is not a day that goes by that I think of them. My heart goes out to you it was a terrible loss for me and my children who grew with them. Good luck and all the best!!!

Oh, sweetie, bless your heart. That is a wonderful idea. Someone else had mentioned the breed organizations, but I didn't know how all of this works. That's my thing - finding someone worthy of my babies.

Just go to your "Search" box and type in Labrador Rescue Groups and viola! Same for the other breeds.

Definitely contact rescue people (often they board dogs until owners are found) as well as vets, who often know of such people and people-finding networks.

I understand why you need to do this, Dana, and my heart goes out to you.

Oh! That reminds me.... Also enter "foster homes" and find them in your area.

Taking a break at the moment and noticed that ya'll are bumping my thread and trying to help. I've never had to do this, actually. When I get dogs, I get them for life.

I have an on-line friend that lives in Tennessee. He lives alone on some beautiful mountainous property and I think he needs a nice companion. Maybe one of your dogs would love a home with him? I'll contact him tonight and see what he says.
