I went to a restaurant and said I wanted Italian dressing...it came back Creamy Italian. I told the waitress I wanted Italian. She argued with me that that was italian=no tip!!
I always ask "..can you cook my eggs, this way?" Then I tell them how I want them. I also say if you can't do it, I'll order something else. When I am told they can do it, I order. When the eggs are not right, I tell the waitress. I expect her to have the cook fix the problem! I always order dry toast...when it comes back with a GOB of whatever they call it stuck between two pieces of toast=no tip
When the service is excellent=excellent tip and usually a word to the manager.
Just some hints to wait staff.
1, People like their food HOT...not luke warm, because they have been sitting there 15 minutes before you serve.
2. People like wait staff that actually smiles
3. I am not "sugar" "honey" "sweetheart" "baby"
4. If a person orders ice tea with lemon. When you refill...bring lemon
I have watched how much a waitress or waiter makes in an hour. I have sat and watched them pick up money left. They do pretty well, when they are good. In 45 minutes at an Applebees I watched one waitress pick up over 40 dollars. Not bad money!!
