i think all of us have gone through that at some point... it is one of the last stages you go through in a relationship, you come to that because of many reasons but once you are there you no longer have excuses: You either fix it (if there is one particular thing you can do about it) or you move on, break up, seek something else. the latter should be the most common i think, because once you get to the point where you feel lonely in your relation, it goes without saying that a few things are wrong in the roots of the whole thing.

You can be with someone day and night, almost, live with them and yet feel alone. Or, there can be someone you hardly ever get to spend time with, maybe because you live far away from each other or you are both very busy, but just knowing that person loves you, you don't feel alone. It is knowing you are loved that makes the difference.

I have to agree 100% it's the knowing they love you makes life easier all the way around.

Just got out of a relationship like that. Problem is, I still love him but am trying to move on because I know it is not healthy for me to be with him. I need more out of a relationship than what he is willing to give.

Communications is so critical. If I can't communicate with someone, and it is an ongoing problem, I know it is time to move on.

I've always been alone because I've never had a relationship. I'm 26, and I've yet to have a relationship. Sad, but true.

Dreamer...remember what I told you about my friend who is paraplegic. It took a while for him to find women who will accept him. He was injured when he was 19. He would tell me for a few years that noone wanted him.

He always had a great personality, but withdrew a little after the accident. He decided to become his old self and just go for it. Before you know it, women were very interested. He is now married.

Just go out and say to yourself, I am worthy and someone is out there who will love me. And while you are out there, have fun!!! Send e-mail to women on here you may be interested in. Send flowers...participate more in forums...Hawaii has its own forum also. You have everything to gain, and some lucky woman is out there just waiting for a very thoughtful man like you!!!handshake

I occasionally got that feeling when, upon looking in the mirror, my bf wouldn't return my winks...and in bed, it was so stressful - even painful - to attempt to lay my head on my own shoulder, and fail. Talk about feeling rejected!dunno blues crying

Yep, only it wasn't a boyfriend, it was my (at the time) husband...I tried for 10 years, but it wasn't getting any better. I'd rather be by myself than be stuck in another relationship like that...sigh

Well, let's put it this way...after 20+ years of marriage, AFTER I filed for divorce he said he was "just now getting to know" me. D'oh! (kinda says it all, aye?)
