Shopping

When did shopping become a sport, pastime, entertainment, etc.????

I hate shopping, hate malls. That's just me. I go shopping when I need something.....I go, find what I want/need as soon as possible, make quick decisions, and then I'm done and ready to actually go off and live my life again.

That's me.

Others love shopping and actually do it for fun...conversing
confused Don't get that.....but I'm not judging....if you like it you like it....

The question here is are you a shopper or are you not? Explain yourself, please! What is good about shopping or what is not so good about it?

On which side of the shopping issue are you?

That's me, too. Besides, heavy shopping results in bringing home lots of STUFF, and I don't like STUFF - I try to get rid of everything that I don't need or am not using... laugh

I think I'm referring to the entertainment type of shopping...probably not food, unless it is maybe like farmer's markets, fun food shopping...that can be okay now and then, but I wouldn't do it regularly....There's a really nice farmer's market here, people go for fun, lots of tourists, etc. I went once...it's okay, but not a regular entertainment thing for me.

The other kind of shopping...not really sure...some people, even couples, go shopping regularly....clothes, household items, cars, etc....not really sure what they are buying...anything and everything I guess...And there seems to be lots of just looking and not buying involved in 'shopping.' Don't get that at all. If I go shopping, it is because I need something....why on earth would I come home empty handed?dunno

I love shopping....Glasgow boasts some of the best shopping in the UK..only second to London so they say but I dont believe that for a minute lol!!....when I shop its usually a day out with girlfriends/drinks/lunch etc etc....so it is a bit of light entertainment for me on the whole....I love shopping for clothes/shoes/makeup blah de blah... what I dont understand however is when I see families out shopping in these trendy malls.... Mum, Dad and their young children all shopping together and all dressed to kill in their designer gear....whats that all about...imagine on a weekend off work you drag your children around shopping malls for God sake....what happened to taking them swimming or to play football in the park........are we turning our children into materialistic little monsters....another thread for another time perhaps.......rolling eyes

wave

ha ha....wave cheers this is it...a day of shopping...I have been on these trips often, actually, because girlfriends want to do this...shop, lunch, etc. One recent time I did this, I realized I was the only one who actually took anything home...that's because I only went on the shopping trip because I needed a few things...the others went for fun only and were fine about spending half the day shopping w/o actually buying anything. Lunch with friends is nice. I really, really hate malls though....mumbling grrrrrrr.....here's to you wine

Portiea, so you mean you wait until your clothes gain holles? What's the sign of needing something?

I like shopping...without anyone accompaning me. I do it slowly...

I know i need everything new because i'm getting old, so my style might have changed a bit...not even sure, i will figure out when i get money for shopping...
But i do believe that i'll just act like a starving young lady...then i'll get used to having money and will of course do other stuff, but lemmi fill my wardrobe with new stuffshimmy

blushing
