...so that folks who have "dial-up" connections can decide for themselves on whether to chance freezing up their computers?

Ususally it's not a problem, but I'm on dial up when I'm at my Mom's place, and it does take forever to open a thread with pictures.

Pretty good! In another week or two, I'll post some more "after" pics, now that things are really starting to grow. (Provided, of course, that I can spare the time to get them to go through with dial-up! laugh )

Yep, it'd be nice to have another option. But we don't even have cable T.V.!

Looking forward to seeing your garden pics - Providing you don't post more than about 3 or 4 at a time! laugh

oops

I voted for the stop whinning one and then read..

biiiiig mistake!

I didn't know people who had a dial up connection had problems viewing things on computer..

oops

so perhaps cs should have an internal option like some pages do... you know when you try to see a clip the page istelf asks you to select if you want real, media or 56 k or broadband or something similar. That would be a good idea perhaps.

Writing a warning means remembering to warn people everytime one posts pictures and that might now always happen, well now that I think of it, when you start a thread it could perhaps have a little click on button saying add warning or not and make it compulsary before posting.

Sounds lovely Trish. I'd love to see the pics.

And Don, I'd love to see the pics of your garden too. I wish I had one!!! My mother always had a beautiful vegetable garden when I was growing up. She coun't grow a flower to save her life in those days. She had to wait until she was old to grow flowers. laugh

Hi Dana! wave

Since the corn is recovering well from the storms last week and the okra is starting to come up... Maybe I'll post a couple of pics tomorrow.

I'll post a "before" pic of what the hillside looked like before I started carving out the gardens, one more of what things looked liked after I was more or less done with the basic landscaping and a couple more of how things look now... How's that?

That does sound like a conciderate idear. I have a dsl connection but when I did not have a sound card then music would crash my pc , would have been nice to have had a warning.

Has anyone sugested the warning for hi download thread to the mods? or are we just discusing it amung ourselfs?

Dennis ( I acidentualy uploaded a rather large file ( i think 35 meg) to a thread once , it was an accident but photo bucket would not allow me to delete it untill waiting fourtyeight hours, oops. )

yes i know
keeping in mind to be polite to others is a hard job

the best is to not let them know there are pictures in the thread, and have their coputer freezes
it is not my problem i should not care

at the same time i can blame CS for not having that option

we are not responsable enought as to be considerate to others when they ask

I have dialup and pics never freeze up even my ancient computer. And It does take a few minuetes to upload those pics to see them all, but other than that, I have no problem. So doesn't matter to me if threads have the warning or not.laugh

If the images are saved right ( optimised for the web ) it will make your downloads easier , that does not allways hapen however. My accidental 35 meg could have been shrunk to 5 kb and looked the same but I did not realise the size, and to me it was not a problem, well untill someone said somthing. Perhaps there should also be a warning for the person uploading.
