It had every listed side effect on me. It was horrible and I had to give up Zyban before I gave up smoking. Unfortunately I started smoking again, but never touched Zyban ever again.I was at least partially cured.

There was all the same hoohaarr about Zyban too I recall.

it does put me off trying them.. I'm still undecided.

Hmmm... die of lung cancer... or hang myself trying to stop?... Hmm eeenyy meeany miney mohhh..I hate to say I smoked, and would have to work myself up to quitting.
That took 6 months. But it was cold turkey for me. Then lots of water to flush out the nicotine. Now when I am around smoking. Yuck, and pee yew. Good luck in whatever you decide.

I think thats what I'll do. I actually get less nicotine when I'm on CS because I just forget I'm smoking and burn up complete ciggies.

Myself and 7 of my co-workers used chantix last year and so far, none of us have started smoking again.

As far as the agitation, hostility and depression those were the withdrawal symptoms I was having when

I tried to quit cold turkey with out medication.

My doctor perscribes it for 18 weeks. Chantix was not covered under my insurance so I paid the full

amount in cash the whole time.

Depressed with a raging hard on? Hostile with wood?

Not sure if that's a good combo.

well kid maybe its just me but i thot it was a brilliant idea

and i read all of page one

RG is right
its not new
and those as was stated by the OP are the same effects of quitting anyway
nicotine attaches to the same receptors as heroin or any opiate
it affects the pleasure center of the brain by releasing dopamine
it is specially designed to do this
alot of money goes into developing the chemicals that are added every couple years to continue effective addiction and meet new resistance of the drug in the body

its like quitting any drug
it takes what it takes
ya gotta be done
and yes sometimes people need to detox from a drug w/ another drug

i dont frickin understand personally how people can afford to smoke-and so many cry out poverty and yet smoke

im glad i got out when i did

in 6 months i had enough for a nice vacation
put it in a jar-its amazing the money we piss away-to smoke?

sorry ppl thats just how i feel, lookin back at my own self
not judging anyone
but if ppl dont understand admit and want to deal w/ the fact that its addictive on every level they wont stop
and thats nobody else's business...

good for you sweetie

was it worth it?
i mean paying for it?

ive known a large number who have used it
no real problems
quitting or changing anything can be REAL uncomfortable

i used to have a friend, when i whined she would say
"no one ever died from being uncomfortable"
in a very bitchy way
but thats been like one of the most helpful mottos i have ever ever learned

i have to say it to myself alot

I think that is how you spell it. Anyways on the market for helping people to quit smoking.

SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS NOTED: News release that serious side effects.
Over 1000 people reporting agitation, hostility, and depresssion.

And if you are depressed, intensifies the depression. So take note if you or anyone else is on it. Talk to your doctor about getting off of it.

Take care everyone.

Chantix ( USA) / Champix ( EU)
The side effects of a drug like this usually depend on your health condition. If you had or are predisposed to any of the conditions you mentioned, you might get them or they can be increased.
Those can very well be symptoms of nicotine withdrawal - depression, agitation, anxiety, weight loss/gain......
I stopped smoking after one foil of 1 mg Champix ; First days after I started, I was still smoking and then gradyally I reduced the number of cigarettes. What I did get - instant vomiting, every time I was smoking immediately after the pill ( but i didn't go through the 0.5 mg pills one week prior).
After a week, I completly stopped smoking and been a year since I don't smoke. But it really takes determination, not to give up to the temptation of " just one smoke" thinking you're safe.
It work really well on the nicotine craving; what's harder is the psycological need of smoking. I had to fight a lot to loose the habbit of lighting a cigarette.
