I have a Nomex III long length fireman's coat. Best camping coat I've ever owned.
Water resistant, so when you fall in the lake or river you sorta stay dry.
Fire retardant, so when you pass out next to the campfire, you don't wake up on fire and the sparks don't burn little holes into your hide.
Heavily insulated to keep the heat out but also works to keep the heat in just as effectively so when you pass out in the snow you don't freeze to death.
Reflective bands all over so when you pass out in the dense bush, your friends can find you in the dark with a flashlight. Especially handy if you were using the facilities so someone doesn't pee on you.

P.S.: Some of the camping trips I've been on are not for the faint of heart.

I also have rubber boots, but that's another story.
