I think so..therefore it's certainly not universal....
I believe there are universal rights and wrongs....I also believe what I wrote...morality be afected by society, religion and the individual....but there is something in our humanity...something universal...

Well yeah I suppose we have common morals like murder etc...but depending on other variables like culture...religion etc....we also have very different ones...so yeah...some morals are definitely universal but not all!!!!!!!!!!

Even an medicine will kill you if you take too much. We must have the wisedom to know by results what is the correct dosage by weight. It is sad that we in one lifetime cannot see the long bad results of some things. These long things have been noted by many generations and made morals for our survival and better. For a person to do only what is right for them is to become a law to themselves and even then the law is broken and they are the worse in both. But the law of survival will add or take them out of the picture of the future. Bad morals may florish well for a short time but the end is destruction and a return to proven morals that sustain survival in the llong run and not the short.

morally aceptable is related to culture and countries

as an example
while in some cultures polygamy is aceptable in others not

each one can have their own set of values, but some fo those are common to the culture

as an example, in the dating world we see as mporally acpetable that some one will go out with diferent people (while they are not already invoved) while others can acept that if both parties are aware

but in both cases most people will not consider morally aceptable that each one will be sleeping arounf with as much partenrs as he/she wants

I was wondering about that last night specifically in response to the claim that it's morally wrong to kill another living creature, even an annoying insect. I wondered about the basic moral assumption that underlies that belief - namely, that all life is "precious," and that all life has an equal right to its life.

I wondered about the logical implications. For example, wouldn't you need to be a pacifist in general (that is, refuse to physically harm another person) if you didn't believe you were morally entitled to slap a mosquito that was hungrily feasting on your flesh? Would you be morally entitled, by that account, to kill someone attacking a loved one? What if you couldn't forcibly displace the threatening insect or vermin (the person advocating this will carefully transport an offending insect to a safe locationlaugh) - would you then be morally entitled to, for instance, kill a colony of plague-bearing rats living outside your residence if moving them away wasn't a viable option?

But I digress, Portiea. laugh I'll attempt to address the issues you've raised in another post. To do so within the confines of this site will likely challenged my capability for concision.confused wave

Your capability for concision? Oh, the alliteration.....by still my heart.

The main point I take from this post is that you need to stop having dinner al fresco with nutcases who do not believe in killing mosquitoes...just a tip...cheers
