With technology become increasing smaller we are fast approaching an Orwellian future of sorts and some elements have already big brother have already transpired.

The most intriguing is nano implants. There is opposition to this tech because of it's percieved invasiveness to our lives; but, techies are assuring us that this tech can have great advantages. Its possible not only to include tons of information like medical, next of kin, GPS functions, phone and communications, bio observation etc., but also to make them user friendly in being able to turn them on or off in circumstances that suit our needs.

However they are tech and it seems there is always someone hacking into tech for thier own purposes.

Want to be implanted? A byte of good news or just plain bites?

I heard recently that medical technology will enable people to hold their existing age in as little as 25 years, and reverse aging in as little as 50 years....
It was also reported that young people born within the last 10 years may end up living to be 150 years old routinely...... twice the life expectancy of todays adults...... and all this will walk hand in hand with nano technological implants which will help to seek out and destroy unwanted biological threats to the body......I vote yes, yet the risk of becoming a pawn through technology is scary......

I've seen some of that on ted.com, stem cell research and other things that they can do already. They have actually grown a heart all by itslef with stem cells and have rebuilt lungs etc. The medical community is as happy about that as the oil industry is about tesla's discoveries. You can bet the rich will get there first.

Nano tech interests me because of the things you say and like you I wonder how much hacking will happen. Little machines that can attack bad cells can also be instructed to attacks good cells.. dunno

I'd go for it. Who could possibly be interested in hacking into me? Might be a security issue for some people. The possibilities, tho, are staggering. Can you imagine the effect on this planet if life span doubled? (not to mention our wonderful social security system!)

Thats ok with me, say goodbye to disease! As long as they don't use MS Windows as the operating system. Would hate to get the blue screen of death laugh Please reboot your system.
rolling on the floor laughing

Come to think of it Bill Gates is a heavy financial supporter of eugenically driven organizations. He and Warren Buffet have dropped millions on these organizations. uh oh!

yep , has some implications we might not be thinking of or couldn't forsee. Being just a number too. Unit #200874300083 is malfunctioning.

Actually some are postulating that we could live to around 900 years, which curiously mirrors the life span of some biblical characters.. confused

I don't know for certain... what do you think I am, god? laugh

All I know is that planet X and the annunaqi, nephilum are returning long before then ... rolling on the floor laughing

I think you may have missed that these units will be user controlled, being able to trun them on or shut them off as the user desires. Iimagine having implanted i-brainpods

You're right though, seriously, I think I prefer (aside from monitoring bio functions) external devices ....would be best, a get smart watch or shoe phone sort of.cheers

I love technology and am by no stretch of the imagination a technological luddite but I do think these proposed interventions need to be seriously subjected to medical ethicist boards before being allowed to go ahead.

The potential is within these technologies to dramatically change the future of mankind and I think all fears need to be deeply explored before the go ahead goes ahead - coupled with the Human Genome, these innovations have the potential to change reproduction methods from 'giving birth' to 'being harvested' and the worth of human dignity from those things we now hold dear to a situation of unrecognised slavery or 'clonehood'..........
