Its not always the case of the thread going off the topic Alex. Some people tell posters to leave their thread if they don't like the other opinion.

Which is in defiance of the rules. As long as people don't resort to ad hominem attacks, the forums are open to differences of opinion on a topic, and nobody has the right to deny another their right to voice that opinion, not even the OP. The key here is respect.

Many of my poem threads have been hijacked for the purpose of personal conversations, and this is not a recent thing. It's systemic. I don't get mad about it, though. What use does that serve?

If everyone stayed on topic, nobody would have any fun. The key is to strike a balance. I'm perfectly willing to surrender the topic as long as everyone is having fun. Isn't that what this place is about.

If one is so susceptible to being butt-hurt every time the world doesn't work out the way they want, then therapy is in order, not forums...

Alex I agree with you that people should follow the thread and it's content.

I've seen where people will bump up particular threads , why the reason for that is I can't begin to know.

As for being ignored. I'd much rather someone ignore me then call me names and try to pick a fight with me.

if people would talk abut the topic of the thread

yes, there are people that only post in threads of specific memebers

it is about having some peoples thread on top of the list

we have some rules, and they are not meant to take our freedom but as a guidelines to achive a good quality forums

we have blogs, where we can post things for those that wants to folow all what we post, and we have the chat rooms where several people can talk at the same time

let use the forums for what they were intended and we will have a nice enviroment again

you are comeing to my view point

forums are for discusing a topic

but we also have blogs
there we can post and we can delet every post that we dont like and keep all the nices post

and if there is no coments on the blog, then we can delete the whole blog

using the forusm for what it was intended will give us a better forum

we have thre wonderful tools in CS (and to my knowledge is the only site with the three)

forums (discusing a topic where each memeber has the freedom of speah))

blogs (to post our personal views and censor the other posters)

chat rooms (to all the chat several mebbrs want to do among them)

using each one of the for the pourpuse they were created will lead to have a beter site
some will enjoy the chat rooms., others the forums, and another the blogs

while some could enjoy all of them

we ave to be thank ful that the CS staff let as behave as we want, not too much FORUM POLICE, why dont we use that freedom that was given to as to make this site the best one

it is every thing in our hand
the tols were given
now we have to have the will

Good post Galactic....

Everybody, the forums are not changing overnight. The forums have a life force of it's own. Just accept it or find a new forum. It's the truth. I've seen this discussion many times. And nothing has changed in the time I have been here. Sometimes things stay on topic, sometimes they don't. Who gives a flying fuck....really....

Been reading back over this thread..........and I think that what I have said has been misundstood-

I am not taking it personally - I enjoy the threads and enjoy posting in them

I never said that people were being ignored as obviously as people have said

I dont want people to think that I am walking around with a huge chip on my shoulder or unable to sleep at night because of this....or that I am not willing to have fun here - becuase I am..........and some of the threads are hilarious and good fun is had........but when people begin to discuss things that no one else has a clue about (apart form those involved) it is off putting....

Anyway, I'm not very good at explaining myself so will stop here!!

Thanks for listening!

It's okay, mini...I've already experienced exactly what you were talking about today. I'm not offended, I just moved to a different thread. But you're right. Certain people are in denial about what they do here. Cliques never want to be SEEN as cliques, or elitist in any way. But actions always speak louder than strident posts of denial...thumbs up
