I was told us Californians have an accent. I don't understand that one, but we do say the word "Like" a lot.

I like elvish accents, but you probably never heard it before. Just kidding, I am typing random things. Oh! If anything a Californian accent might be like a Mexican accent, because you have to be bi-lingual to order at a fast food place sometimes and I suppose it can rub off on you.

Before you all jump to conclusions, I happen to be like a 1/4 or like 1/2 or something. So don't think I am being mean, I am just saying, sometimes ya dooooooooooo.

I dated a woman from South Africa a few years ago and found her accent to be very stimulating. She also taught me Afrikaans... A very cool chick.

I hear you, chico...I lived in So. Cal for over 40 years...moved to Mexico a year ago...still can hardly put two Spanish words together, but if I've heard it once I've heard it dozens of times, that I have a good accent...go figure. dunno But I'm gonna take it and run with it! joy

I know. I'll bet people want to talk to southerners sooner just so that they can hear our southern accent.

When I lived out west, people would ask me things just to hear me speak. laugh

I was born in the south, but was raised in Maryland. I went to visit a friend in college (Villanova Univ in Philadelphia) and there were alot of students from the northeast. They said I talked like I came from Mississippi. Then I move south 20 years ago and the people here said I talked like a yankee. Now I have a slight southern accent.
