Google “High intensity interval training” work out you calorie requirements then droop it by 1000 per day this will give you a 2 pound loss each week , 2 lbs per week is considered the max safe amount , eat 5-6 times a day (every 2.5-3 hours) each meal should contain protein, You should eat at least 1g per pound of lean body mass

Also STRESS.......WHAT I enjoy doing for inner strength,it's THEWALLS little secret, but I'LL share it with you.

It's real simple,and here's what you do.

Go up to a wall, any WALL,a brick wall will do fine.

Go up to that WALL,and in your mind, tell yourself, you're going to move that wall.
For 15 minutes, with all your strength, and everything you got....TRY TO PUSH THAT WALL and make it move.

Sounds crazy,I KNOW.....but try it for a while,and I GUARANTEE YOU.........

you'll be smacking home runs.......WAY PASSED THE BLEACHERS.thumbs up

Just a thread to talk about working out, exchange ideas or workout programs or whatever.

I work out no less than three times a week, and at times 6 times a week....and sometimes I just shut it off for a week or so.

I love the high I get after a good workout session. It clears my mind, relieves any stress I may have, and keeps me young and energetic.

Anyways, I like to lift weights 3-4 times a week, swim at least once, and go jogging at least 3 times a week. I do love to do sprints up a hill. Gets me in shape fast.

I usually do my cardio work out after I lift weights....so a workout session is usually 2 hours plus the extra 10 minutes of annoying stretching.

Right now with the weights, I go as heavy as I can for 4 reps, then drop the weight till I get in 12 reps. Power plus stamina...what a rush.

When I swim, I swim for about 35 minutes at a good pace....and I do slow down if I pass a sexy lady under the water...goggles give me a nice view

When I jog, I usually jog for 40-45 minutes. Sprints I do for about 35 minutes.

If I did not work out, I would go mental....plus age faster....

Feel free to add anything....even if it's lifting beer or chips from the sofa in front of the tv....

Just came back from the gym....I am tryig to get back in shape, been quite lazy lately and would skim gym every excuse I got, until stopped completly for few montsh. Now there's the extra weight that needs to go off too.

I do mostly cardio and small weights; love spinning but can't do it, for my lower back.

I have times when I go daily to the gym and times when only 2 , max 3 times per week.

But there's nothing like the "after gym" feeling ...if only I would remember that every time I am cheating and skip the day.

Intersting shoes, Claire. Thank you for the hint!

If they really do what they are saying, it's really worth having them.

I was doing some hiking lately and , although I had great shoes, my left ankle feels tense and painful and I am sure it's becaue of the way I was walking in those shoes.

Hey, brother. Yeah, I have a gym in a spare bedroom, featuring a machine I designed and built myself (I call it The Mantissmitten).I like the basics: bench, squat, dead, pullups, etc. I also like to take bike rides, play basketball (sadly, usually with myself out hereblues), and take long, romantic walks at night in the cornfields...smitten A few windsprints on occasions when a local mountain lion chases me (it's nature's way of telling me that if I don't keep off the extra pounds, he *will*laugh)

That's about my routine in a nutshell. Keeps me in ideal shape to wow the local 70 - 80 year old chicks (though they do often rag me about my skinny calves. Some women!).

Used to belong to a gym, but the school district didn't renew it's corporate membership, so I've been doing my own thing at home.

Use my bowflex 3 times a week, 2 reps of 12, bars set at 25 on both sides, legs, biceps, triceps, rows, rotations & abs.

2 days a week I do a workout video. I recently switched to mornings instead of when I got home from work (too easy to say forget it...lol) Currently I'm getting up at 5:15, which is fine on the bowflex days, but pushing it on the video days. Need to figure out when to add in the abs video (only about 10 minutes)...guess I'll need to try and add it to the bowflex days.

I'm still sitting at the 35 lbs that I've lost since December (been cheating a little too much on the eating part). Need to get back on track & stick with the controlled eating part again...especially since I have a cruise coming up in basically 4 weeks!! Yikes...lol

Think I can be good on the cruise? I'm already planning on hitting the ships gym....plus zip lining, sea kyacking, horseback riding....think I should be able to do ok.....just stay AWAY from the desserts...lol

Hey SF wave
Keeping fit my ***....blushing
That's the problem, coming back from the hike I realised how unfit I was!!! frustrated
And It's time to change thatwink
I have a double hernia in my back, I have it under control and I know how to cure it when I feel signs of contraction.
But the spinning is really bad for the lower back, and so is roller skating ....
Swimming is fantastic but would you believe in Cancun there's no swimming pool? And to swim in the ocean, I do it every chance I get, but I do get a bit uncomfortable being away from the shore
