i like playing team sports like cricket and basketball, as well as golf and tennis. Usually find the 19th hole the best, and having a drink with boys afterwards is good fun.

I find it hard to get motivated to go to the the gym, probably because there aren't that many ladies in the aerobics class anymore to focus on or that go swimming.

(mental note, time to change gyms). grin

I just came back from some weight lifting and a 30 minute swim followed by a sit in the sauna....wow

My mind feels cleared up and my energy feels fresh and vibrant. Good thing cause I have some things to say about your post BN in you know what thread....I just need to put it in a sexy nutshell....and coherent.

Right, brother. There's almost nothing that can compare with apres-workout high...except, well, an apres-you know.

Of course, if you go at it really hard - and you're not 21 anymore - there's a price to be paid the next day or two. But what the hell. Overall, nothing beats exercise for clearing the mind and improving the spirit...with the possible exception of an ice cold beer and a generous helping of hallucinogens, of course.wink wave

You got any papers?

I know, the recovery process is a bit slower compared to my early 20's. The thing about working out and staying in shape when we get over 30, is just that. Continually working out. A long break is just a pain in the ass because it's takes a lot longer to get back in shape....and the painful next dayuh oh! However, it's worth it. I like the blood flow and stamina...devil

I never want to experience that again. It takes such a short time to get out of shape as opposed to getting back in shape....thank goodness I have good muscle memory and genetics....sticking out tongue

thumbs up I used to be skeptical about "muscle memory." No longer.

Agreed about staying in shape - I don't believe in long breaks (for me a week is a long break). Also avoiding changes in weight seems like a good idea. What a drag it must be to gain huge amounts of weight and then lose it - only to find your skin hanging like a sharpei's (not to mention the possible negative health impacts of that kind of physical rollercoaster). wave

You guys should try out a climbing wall maybe.
How else could you travel just 20m and be
completely exhausted?

I work a full time job and 2 part time jobs. I clean up after my 14 yr old son. I also take care of my elderly parents. I go to the gym (Curves) at the minimum of 3 times a week. I think that's exercise enough! LOL dancing

I did chest and biceps in the gym today. Went as heavy as I could for the first 6 reps, then dropped the weight so I could get 12 reps.....it was a struggle but worth it.

After the weight room, I did some sprints up and down a hill for about 35 minutes....what a rush! I went with a friend which makes it much more fun and helps time pass by faster.

Working out with a friend is a huge plus. Breaks up the monotony and keeps things motivating.

Hey Wallwave I tried moving a wall today, man that gets tiring after 10 seconds....I like it though....please tell more of your workout secrets....

I have a close friend who works out with me, too, Stressless, and you're right, it really helps break the monotony. The problem is that other people can't seem to see her, so I've taken to only talking to her in whispers when working out in public areas (she's in amazing shape...never seems to get tired at all!dunno confused smitten).

I don't have a regular work-out schedule, but I keep active doing things I enjoy, such as:

Biking

Lifting Weights *flexes muscle*

Roller Blading

Walking

Tennis

Golf

Yoga

Dancing

Yard Work

...just to name a few.

Hey Red! You said biking, did you mean spinning or do you actually bike around? Just curious, cause I use my bike to go everywhere...I live in a small town so everything is really accessible. Plus gas is like twice as expensive her than over in American...
You golf? How much do you really like that? JC....
Tell me what happens after said dancing....jk....laugh
