Who is willing to travel half-way around the world for a chance?

A "friend" of mine from work recently went to Scotland and had a fantastic time meeting guys and having fun. She even ended up bringing one fellow home--and it seemed he adored her.

Here is the nitty-gritty on that: She isn't easy on the eyes, she has a crappy personality (she wears thin on my nerves constantly) and she really puts no effort in to herself. (She didn't go to college, she doesn't go with the fashion trends, she doesn't groom herself very well... etc.)

So how did she meet this fantastic guy and how did he end up adoring her?

I think I am pretty cute, I am nice, and I take time on my appearance. I have two masters degrees and a good sense of humor.

Why can't I find someone to adore me? Do I have to travel to Ireland? Will the Irish guys fall in love with my California accent?

Do I have to travel half-way around the world for a chance?

A friend you say. Boy o Boy I certainly don't speak about my friends like that.

Maybe she has confidence in herself and doesn't give a hoot what others think.

You are sitting in judgement of your friend, but who is sitting in judgement of you. I mean you say you're all that but by who's opinion?

I'm not willing to travel halfway round the world for a chance of a bloke.

1) I'm skint.

2) I'm not that desperate (well not yet anyway)

3) If I was suddenly able to afford to travel all that way. I hate flying uh oh!

So, it would be like one of those "Halfway round the world in 80 days scenatios".. But, it would probably take me 80 months by bus via the scenic route.

By the time I eventually arrived there (if I'd not died of travel fatigue during my travels) he could have forgotten I was even going and cleared off with someone else crying

Nah, think I'll just stay here eating my popcorn thinking of what could have been day dream
