No carb on your car. It's fuel injected.

Only the deep green ones had carbs.

Could be a barometric pressure sensor. All those little sensors feed a signal to the computer telling it what's going on, then the computer adjusts spark, fuel accordingly. All it takes is one of those sensors to fail and it will effect everything else. There is a failsafe mode that will allow you to drive it but performance will be effected.

Or! Could be your car hates you for neglecting it and is teaching you a lesson.

Oh.. daaaammit!

::mumbles:: yeah... I got that the first time.. mumbling

I was wondering it it's just something like a grubby carb? ...

AND! it's very foggy here today... maybe its the damp?::: starts to pray to the great god Rover:::

If your car is only 6 years old, chances are its not a grubby carb.... it should be fuel-injected!

AND!.. it has gone once before on my car.. £600- $1200 usd.. (EEK!!)..

ermm.... because it had no water..

I feel like a dad in the waiting room...

::paces the floor:::

It may not be a head gasket, but it sounds like you do have some sort of vacume leak, the first thing I would do is check and see if any of the vacume line might have come loose...

I'm laughing.. but I'm vereeee worried about it really. I was going to use the polite UK expression.. of 'Shitting a brick'..

but that's not very nice.. so I won't.

I should clarify, "mine" isn't a Rover. It's a Chevy.

The carb filter was dirty, so when I let off the pedal, it didn't have enough gas. Most carb filters are pretty cheap, but uh, make sure to write down the year, make and model before going into the auto parts store, "Red" gets laugh <<this reaction every time.

Well since it is computerized, which means the computer is responsible for regulating air fuel mixture.. and vacume, sounds to me like your engin got to hot and something warped.. did you notice if you were leaking any water after you refilled the radiator?
