Hi Clair, just read the last and first posts, no time for it all, fliuds are THE most important part, but you may not have killed it, hope not any way.

A lot depends on the conditions of it last few uses while low on either fluid.

Luck for you (crosses fingers)

A teeny bit..

They called me at almost garage closing time.. to say that they had only JUST started to look at it.. rolling eyes

and that they were ordering new plugs?.. and HT leads? .. I dunno.. something like that.. (tomorrow)

and that as yet.. they still didn't know what was wrong.. but that they were trying that first.

Sooo.. now I can't work tomorrow morning either.. arrrghh!!

I'm just going to out on a few double ups with one of the other carers instead.

spark plugs.... I thought of that.. but generally if one of those is missing you can hear it as your engine is running...it kind of sounds like the engine is jumping..

what do you think guys could it be something easy like the timing belt?

if you had water in the oil that would indicate a head gasket I think but I don't know for sure.

Did you run it low on gas. If so you might have got some trash IE{dirt ,rust,ETC from the bottom of your fuel tank} in the fuel filter. Did you get gas from a place you dont go to often could be they were on the bottom of there tank and you got trash into your fuel system that way. Reason it would only have the shut off prob. at idle is the fuel pump is not pumping as fast so it dose not get pass the trash that might be in the filter. A studering prob. may a cure as you try and get up to speed at the same time both would be a place to start check the fuel filter ...Just a note on that if it is the same filter you got when car was bought a good time to get a new one is now ...... First good sing of a cracked or leaking head gasket would be water in the oil or oil in the water. It is a cant miss thing you would have a milky color to the coolant or if you pulled the dip stick to check the oil it would have a milky color to it.
