I'm new to the online dating /search chat/ rejection/whatever you want to call this stuff. Let's just say that I begin e-mailing back and forth with someone and she seems to be a reasonable fit for at least a luncch or dinner date. What is the appropriate lenth of time before more concrete type of communication could begin? Phone calls. Maybe this instant message stuff has a place. I don't know how it works. I understand that women need to play things very safe and the last thing I would want to do is put off a potential nice girl with an inappropriate inquiry. I hope this is a question for this venue. I understand this one is screaming for wise cracks but I'm serious.confused

Go ahead with the date. If things go well, then ask for her phone number. Good luck....handshake

Sometimes you just need to let her know that you understand about her safety and when she is ready to move forward to exchange more contact information just to let you know....Better to provide her with yours rather than asking for hers if you want to be cautious....Good Luckcomfort

I agree, Tell her you are intrested in talking more with her, and would like to talk to her on the phone give her your number and let her decide. then you can go have that date, from there everything should fall into place one way or another.
