Ah, the joys of being an American. What a wonderful thing it is that we can argue about both our internal and global affairs, that we can attack, abuse, and defame those in power, and that we are protected by the first amendment to do so.

So here's my two cents. All politicians are crap. Even Obama. Hopefully the nostalgia of having a black man run for president will wear off before the elections actually take place.

Hopefully we do stop trying to police the world and focus on fixing our own country.

Hopefully we realize that spending money, especially in the amounts that both candidates speak of, will not boost the economy, but further our debt.

But this is what I hope for most of all. Hopefully they challenge the Second Amendment, because I think its about time we had another civil war.

In my opinion, it takes people with little conscience to do what Rove, Bush, Cheney and Co. have done. They played psychological warfare on America. Atleast Bush's rating suggest that people are not happy about status que, no matter what these few people on this forum who still deny he has done any wrong think.

What you are saying is flying in the face of every intelligence service that has done investigation into Iran nuclear programs. I personally have seen photos of Iran's nuclear furnance. Nuclear furnace are used for two things only. One is to make nuclear fuel rods (which Russia will give them plenty of) and nuclear cores for weapons.

By this time next summer....Iran's chances of having nucs are likely over 90% in my odds making. I picked Big Brown to win the all three by the way.

And if you are wrong.....and those Isreali cities go up in a terror nuc attack.......you got WWIII. Isreal will not look around and ask...who did this? But look what is happening right now in our Embassy in Zimbowey. We cannot stop people coming to us for asylum...they is thier individual decision to make. So? We are always put into the position of defending our freedoms, liberties and positions on human rights. When events like this occur. They did not turn to any other country, than the US for aid to their situation. Why?

Because they knew what we stand for. Knew that if there was one country in the world that could and would aid them in this situation....it was the US. In a way it is an honor that they would think of us in such a manner and seek asylum from us. That is the legacy our forefathers have left us.

We just need to be strong enough to stand up to it. If that means policing the world....then we police the world some. It needs a little dusting and some light of democracy shown into some dark places.

We ain't getting out these situations by backing down on them. Rather if we stand together as Americans....more will make it through them. jmo

And dude, you're right, we are all "foreigners" here. However, together we are ONE nation founded on certain principles which have helped to make us strong.
