Photo helps.
Living local for me to initate the writing.
Reading profile. The more detail the better it tells me that there is a real person there. And if there are certain criteria that meets what I'm looking for in my own profile. (for example I have put that a single mom with kids is overwelming for me, I won't write single moms with kids.)

I will respond to Canadians and US. if I think the profile is real, and the letter seems genuine. I will not respond to letters from 3rd world countries (I seem to get a lot from China), or if the profile is shallow, or like the women here, I get the feeling that they haven,t read my profile.

Fantastic point locality is another issue that arises.

Looks and what they say in their profile do not mean much to me...I've found both to be misleading... scold I've also found that by listening/reading what they have to say in the forums to be more telling of the person that they really are conversing. However, the forums can be misleading as well, as some people do not always be their "true self" in the forums either...professor I'm really not untrusting, just not so naive as I once was here D'oh!, lol!

What does it take for you to send someone a message? Is it the way they look in their pictures or what they say in their profile. I personally rarely ever send messages unless I know them ( met through the forum). Please vote and explain.

everything might inspire me to write a note to smb! the year he/she was born, some specific details listed in his/ her profile, the look in the eyes, some interesting posts on the forum etc etc etc etc the problem is i don't take a look at profiles oftenlaugh laugh i usually view only those who viewed meconfused confused

I usually don't send a first meesage. Why, not really sure, but it might be because I am still new here and getting a feel for the people. I had one woman email me because of a post on a thread that I made giving me some tips on who I may upset....LOL. I emailed her back even though she didn't have a pic. We have since become wonderful friends and have even exchanged pic. I figure she has to be a wonderful soul, because she is a WOW knockout and I am me..... but that is for another thread.

What I am trying to say is.... there really should be no reason that people don't contact other people whether they have a pic or not. It's about connecting with fellow human beings.

OK I am way off track.... just shoot me now.
