Can answer that last question, out having a life maybe i should take my own advise lol, but on to other things. Do these site's actually work i mean im sure it takes time but ive sent email's and get no returns i mean honestly why is it so hard to give someone a chance... er ok done with the sounding crazy.. I am new to this online "meeting people" thing but hell i will try anything until it fails, but if anyone has any constructive advice to help me along would be nice, and if you want to criticize me go ahead, waste of your time but hey whatever....

Yep. What he said. It's a lot easier to get to know someone from talking with them and others on the forums. A "cold call" type of e-mail usually scares the other away.

Don't set yourself up for a let-down, involving any certain expectations you may or may not have in being here. Have fun, go with the flow, post on the forums that interest you, don't search sooooooo hard - or you are bound to be even more disappointed that you seem to be already. I don't know about other sites, but yes, this site does and has worked, for some.

Exactly, getting involved in the forums is a very good idea...you can get to know people and in turn they can get to know you too...it does actually work, I've seen it!
