We have as many words for types of rain in Ireland, (in both the Irish and English languages), as the Inuit have words for types of snow in Alaska.wine

Thats not rain, Lola, it just God watering the plants. Clearly they do need a lot of watering at the moment, just to stay green. But sure thats how the Emerald Isle got its name..........

Just one of life's mysteries, like....

..why does the sun goes behind a cloud, when you put suncream on (ok that happens rarely in Ireland) ?.

..why does a rain cloud reach your house before you do, the one sunny day in the week when you need to get the clothes in dry ?.

..why does the sun shine all week when you are at work, but not on the weekend when you are off ?.
