Now that the reign of theirs ia almost over, will the executive, legislative, and judicial branch stand up andvote to cancell the most heinous attack against American rights in history? Or will the newly elected choose to keep and use the Patriot Act..

Thus far I not heard much talk about modifying or rewriting it.

It wouldn't surprises me if Bush and Cheney were able to find or make a way to circumvent the constitution and remain in power forever.

Doesn't matter: read your world history. No supposed "Democracy" has lasted more the 200 years....so that put's us in Over-time....Every single one, throughout world history, has inevitably degenerated into a dictatorship....every single one. There is no reasonable reason to believe we will survive the test of time....our Constitution gets chipped away at every single day...one or two more false flag attacks and its over: we spiral out of control into chaos....

So lets all play some sex games......rolling on the floor laughing

I fully expect there will be a "TERRORIST" attack very soon, and Bush will evoke the executive order to cancel the election, and these crooked murdering bastards will remain in power.
And just like I believe 9/11was an inside job, this will be too.

Oh I know there were some erosion's during those time periods....actually much worse than that we are experiencing now!

Lincoln suspended Habeas Corpus too....but America was a much "newer" world then...most people recognized the necessity of it, and got what they expected: the return of HC.

Americans tend to run along the less intelligent lines now, most being a product of the Public School system...most wouldn't know HC if it came up and bit them in the a**!!

Most don't even recognize the meaning of it!! Or what it would mean if it were suspended permanently. dunno

You have the right to freedom and liberty as an American and the rights guaranteed by your constitution...Now...if they can accuse anyone and detain them without a trial...providing them with disclosure etc...then you have lost several rights...I don't know much about the Patriot Act but I think our security certificates here kind of work the same way!!!!!!!

Well yea: when someone can investigate you for no reason, and have you put on the "do not fly" list for no reason....when you can, because of some disgruntled citizen or employer, be picked up, questioned, and told "Do not tell anyone about this questioning (oops, I mean "interrogation") or you *will* be prosecuted, then....something is wrong...

Something our Founding Fathers didn't account for.....

Exactly....and they don't even have to show you proof until they get around to having a trial...if they do....and you may be perfectly innocent but don't have a chance to demonstrate it....wave wink uh oh! dunno

It seems that with the current administration, they're breaking every law in the book.
If there's a law against something, it gets changed.
Amazing that they get away with all this shit without being impeached, but Bill Clinton was impeached for what......lying about blowjobs?
Just lovely

"All animals are equal, but pigs are more equal." - Animal Farm

They (the elitists) will always end up changing the law to favor themselves. Its' human nature. The only way to change the world is to change the nature of humanity. As long as the pigs are in power, that is not going to happen.

Lost Rights????? Some seem bound and determined to avoid reality by a very selective and subjective way of life.
According to all the legal and Civil Rights groups all over the US , Canada and Europe, including all the various Religious groups that monitor civil liberties the world over, those 'picked up' for questioning, those arrested for being in or suspected of being in violation of the US Patriot Act have all been denied the right of council, the right to know the charges if any, against them, the right to a open court hearing to face his/ her accusers; the right to a trial by his/her peers. That is just for openers. I might suggest to these that wish to emulated the ostrich, that they wake up and do their homework, themselves instead of sitting back and bewailing the fact that no one provides them...it;s easy to sit back and only make snide remarks while their own citizens are harassed, jailed, prosecuted and persecuted for having different beliefs or for not believing in your State Religion of world domination through war... What a shame it is that they won't experience the same as those who have had that Act used against them.

Well said...it is a very deep violation of rights indeed....based on erroneous beliefs and heresay really because...there is no justice or fairness and people are no longer innocent until proven guilty...they are tried...persecuted and found guilty based on a system of belief and not concrete evidence....and certainly before they ever reach...if they ever reach a court house....the whole justice system...and Canada has Security Certificates that operate basicly the same...is thrown into disrepute....and it could merely be because you have darker skin than the next fellow....wave wink hug teddy bear hug bouquet of flowers
