Clearly if you know anything about cultures you'll know the last people on the planet to force a belief on anyone else is a buddist.

So a fundamentalist Buddist is possibly rarer than a speckled hens tooth mounted in gold and being sold for $20k and sold on Rodeo Drive.

Personally i live by my own set or morals (Bushido) and i don't need a framework to tell me how to believe, what to believe or when to do so.

As for me being misinformed, well perhaps you should look up the terms Irony, pith, and joke in the dictionary.Clearly what i said was a joke, along with making a point that some of us are a little fed up with hearing the constant tirade or religious dogma being spewed out onto the forums.

Well, your statement " if you know anything about cultures you'll know the last people on the planet to force a belief on anyone else is a buddist." should have been taken into account by you seriously before becoming goofy. I say this because after following your kind suggestion to open a dictionary I have found out that your humour sounds like making a joke of a sherpa inside a pub: only bad taste, at the least.
Anyway, fullstop. Not touchy because I would not call myself Buddhist -I am far below a real practice of that ... I would not be here in the first place otherwise-
As for being tired of having all the spiritual/religious stuff and the spiritual people rammed up my arse, I agree. Personally not my cup of tea, but just needs a little bit of concentration to ignore them if one does not like them -so spirituality can be useful too!!! grin. I have taken part in discussion around that just because I find it interesting to talk about that with open/informed people, that is all. I do not even have beliefs similar to many of the htings discussed here as I belong to a culture whose ancient vision -spiritual too, oh God!- I tried to rescue just for my own life.

The god of the christians had a son named Jesus!! Not so of the jews and muslims!!

Sorry but you are wrong they all have the same god as Abraham as all 3 religions share him , do your research rolling eyes

I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours. - Stephen Roberts

Why have there been so many "spiritual" threads lately??? It's either Christian, Muslim, Buddist, seers, mediums, and the list goes on and on. Are we trying to out do each other and tell the world we are more spiritual than the next person???I'm beginning to feel like I am back in Bible College than on a dating site!!

And, before I am accused of trying to stop religious threads,( I know there are those just waiting to say that), Post away!! Just trying to figure out why all these threads...all of a sudden!!

Hence the reason I don't get involved in threads of that nature, nor the political ones.

To each their own, naturally.

<opens door, looks in, shakes head, closes door, walks away>

This reminds me of a man discussing a man discussing a man discussing a man...D'oh!

Those who are interested in spiritual conversations post spiritual threads. Those who aren't post once to exercise their 1st amendment right and that's fine.

Why create a discussion about a discussion. Are thread ideas getting that scarce?

The Christians base their whole belief system on the fact that jesus is God's flesh and blood. This is the God and Son that they worship

The God that the Muslim's worship has no flesh and blood son!

The God that the Jews worship has no flesh and blood son!

Hence...it can't be the same God!!

Fact :All three religions are linked threw Abraham hence why the all worship the same god as Abraham , the old testament is based on a Jewish document , the new testament is based on Jesus a Jew who claimed to be the son of god for filling Jewish prophecy , some Jews believed him and became Christians , (most did not in fact early Christians where very few in numbers) , Islam recognizes Jesus as a prophet,

They all worship the same god as Abraham hence they all worship the same god
If you don’t believe me I suggest you go to scholars of all three religions and ask them

This is what I was afraid people would say!! I did not say they were wrong or didn't like them....what I said was there seems to be a lot of them all at once. It seems people are trying too push their ideology onto others.

I am glad people have their own religious convictions....but there are times they try too hard to compel others to join them. Some posts are so dogmatic, that the "love" they talk about is hidden by supression.
That's why I try not to post on religious or political sites. Too often it ends up a squabble and name calling instead of an exchange of viewpoints. A lot of people can be really dogmatic about their beliefs - my way or the highway!!

Hiya... I can't understand that... sigh.... to say the least it's not very 'christian' to be so reactionary... people are entitled to their views... some of my favourite people here.. Kidatheart, Trish and BNatural.. have diametrically opposed views to my own, and at times I strongly disagree with their thinking... but they are entitled to their view, and for me to get on my high horse and critisise them IMO would be hipocritical and not in the least bit 'Christian'...

Posting innane nonsense for the purpose of insulting is less understandable.. but even so.. I chose to let them...without comment.. again a free world...

In fairness to Kid.... I rarely disagree with him.. just he and I would be operating from a different spiritual base.. and B and Trish.. I always find their thoughts informative and they often lend inspiration and provoke debate....

Kinda tried too strongly there to emphasise my point... diametrically opposed is not all that accurate a term to use

I really have no clue why there is so much arguing on these threads...a the end of the day everyones religious beliefs are valid and should be respected....beliefs are personal...and no one religion has the monopoly...there are several and it's a personal choice....opinions...fact and interpretation are what seem to be at issue.....BUT nobody is right....only for themselves.....wine

speaking of terms, when they let me out .... well nevermind... laugh I think the nature of debate is diametric opposition, dont you not? You can hit the nail on the head or pound it in on an angle, either way it gets in, and actually the anglular insertion is preferred for 'holding strength'.. giggle thats just my and some carpenter's opinions. yay

laugh True... but I quite often see the logic in urs and Trish's posts on some level.. my views come from a 'faith' perspective in which 'logic' doesn't always dictate.. ya see I don't think 'knowledge' or 'logic' are the 'key' that ties everything together.. I think LOVE is.. though having said that, logic and knowledge appeal to me as I am a naturally cerebral position... so I often find my self in the curious position of not being diametrically opposed to while at the same time holding a different view... if that makes sense laugh confused

Hiya B!!

giggle actually the bold part is dog chasing its tail, which only makes sense to the dog, but nevertheless sense to him/her

Ah but can love hold things together logically. Diametrically opposed mirrored twins. I say no, what say ye? do they need to be held together? or are they doin it all on their own without our nailing and hammering?? not to mention the best crazy glue of debate, belief!
