There was a time when I needed a wheelchair, (badly broken foot), and people , even ones I knew well, kind of overlooked me in conversations, and treated me deferentially.

It is the case maybe with lots of disabilities.

My son lost his voice once and his clients and friends started shouting at him like he was deaf too. (Though why anyone shouts at a deaf person is beyond me).

Good thread topic...thumbs up

As easily as I could love anyone.
OK it may be one of the first things you see but the outside on anyone is the first thing we see.

Yes I can love a person in a wheel chair.....but not be IN love with that person.

Before anyone jumps on me for that......I don't believe I can be IN love with anyone, wheelchair or not. But I can love all without reservation

I think I can fallin in love but I don't know any person on the wheel chair. When I look at person on the wheel chair I feel sad because I know how wonderful is ability to walk, run and feel independent from others.
I have friend who lost leg in tram acident when he was child. He has artificial limb by all his life. Now he play in our volleyballs national team.
He is vey handsome so I think girls have no problem with fallin in love with him :).

I think disability is not a problem in love.

Problem is when you fallin in love with somebody who is mentaly ill because you can't see this.

If you loved a person without a wheelchair and they became wheelchair bound.......would you stop loving them.....no!

Then you can fall in love with a wheelchair bound person to start with.

If you can not still love a person after they become wheel chair bound....then you are more crippled in life than they.

Truly are we not all crippled in some way.....some by bad experiences and conditions.......others by fowl and self centered personalities. One by life, the other by choices,.... one acceptable and one condemnable.

I have a disability and i have a friend who once dated a girl who used to talk to me like i was a child.

Ya know like speaking V-E-R-Y S-l-O-W-L-Y and it was incredibly annoying but thats just ignorance for ya. I spose she meant well. Anyway most of the women i have dated have been able-bodied but i wouldn't have a problem with dating someone with a disabilty because i think its whats on the inside that counts.

I could tell a million stories on this matter but i won't bore ya rolling on the floor laughing
